Michelin Star prices with McDonalds food

The best feature on offer from the Aqua Restaurant is the magnificent view of Ireland's Eye. Then again you can get that view from the top of the pier without paying their ridiculously expensive, prices. I had the Seafood Chowder ( € 9) starter which was just average to poor, the John Dory on a risotto base ( €26 ) which consisted of two small portions of pan fried John Dory- well fried fish is fried fish not a lot you can do wrong with it but to be fair to them, they tried and... I dine in here because there's no table for us in Oar House. The view is good but I think it is expensive. We normally spend €50 for 3 of us but here we ended spending €100 euro without drink as we are not drinking anyway. The food is ok but I think quite small portion..You can choose a fresh lobster from their aquarium and ask them to cook for you. This place is more to a romantic dinner as it has a good view&kind of fine dining.... Superb Ambience; Good Food

Was a guest in a party of 12 celebrating a relative's First Communion.Staff were very welcoming on arrival; we had drinks in the comfortable lounge area, and then were seated at 2 circular tables with spectacular sea views. A lovely Australian shiraz was chosen by our host as well as a crisp sauvignon. The 3 course luncheon ,followed by coffee was very good-service prompt and efficient -food hot and fresh.Surf and turf as my main was cooked to perrection -steak medium as I like ; other... Aqua ok

Went to Aqua while on a weekend trip to Dublin. Was recommended so emailed a week beforehand and managed to get a table for sunday. Went for the 3 course set menu which i think was 30 per person or 35 if you had a glass of house wine. Food was ok not the best i have had but certainly not the worst. Had steamed prawns for starter - only got 3 and a big plate of salad so could probably do with a few more prawns. Main was ok and dessert could have been better was meant to be a rhubarb crumble... This is a lovely restaurant but it is just so expensive. they have a wide selection of fresh fish on the menu and perhaps it is expensive to buy hence the high cost on the menu. i only ate here once and felt we did not get value for money. while the service was very good and the view is lovely the food was just overpriced. I do think that they appeal to a particular market however.... Read more...

Had a Saturday birthday lunch here yesterday. The pros: The view The menu choice Service Parking The cons: Room was chilly and less than half full Pricy - set menu €26.95 for 3 courses, a la carte was €26 for a main Enjoyed the meal and the setting was spectacular with floor to ceiling windows looking out on the Irish Sea towards Ireland's eye. Nice big table for the 6 of us. Lots of seafood on the menu, but also steak and other options . Service was faultless,... Read more...

Aqua is a really nice restaurant located at the end of the fishing pier in the lovely village of Howth. Have been here twice - I still prefer The King Sitric across the harbour but thats purely a personal preference as they are both great restaurants. Slightly on the expensive side - especially for the a la carte but there's good value to be had on their lunch/early bird specials. Superb views across the bay from the restaurant - lovely setting. Would recommend for a special night out.... Read more...

this is a great spot for dinner in howth.its a nice location being down the end of the pier with all the fish shops. it is pricer than some of the other places around but we were very happy with our dinner!its near the sea lions too that you can feed so if you go for the early bird or lunch the fish shops will still be selling scraps to give the sealions if you have kids with you to amuse. the staff were really attentive and polite. the menu was lovely too.... I was told by some friends that i had to go out to howth and after a good stretch of the legs i have to eat in the aqua restaurant. And i must say, i was delighted with this place.there is a really nice atmosphere in here. The views alone can just chill you out.Beautiful scenery.I was with three of my friends and we got a great seat.looking out on the ocean almost felt like we were sailing on it.There was alot of people there so it can be very busy.maybe it would be better to reserve a seat to... Room with a view

Howth is a great area to spend a Sunday in and there's nothing better after a walk up Howth Hill than a meal at Aqua restaurant. It tends to be very busy at the weekend so it's advisable to book in advance and when you are, ask for a window seat. The restaurant juts out to sea, so when you're seated at the window it basically feels like you're in the sea itself. I've never been to a restaurant with such a great view, it's absolutely amazing and beats Cruzzos of Malahide hands down in that... Read more...

Got a voucher for Aqua as a gift so made the trip out on the dart to check it out last Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is built at the end of the pier so it almost feels like you're on a ship, beautiful views from the full length windows on 3 sides. We even saw seals playing in the water below us, v picturesque. We all went for the sunday Lunch set menu - 29.95 for 3 courses. I had the deepfried brie starter, the other girls having the seafood chowder and the chicken liver pate. Everyone was... Read more...
