Lunch on a saturday afternoon.

I had lunch after a small bit of shopping in the store (and we didn't even book a table, just waited for one to appear), food served on the blocks (trendy option), I had the fish pie (nice, but hot, take your time eating this one, or get a burnt mouth) and my mum had the duck pate (this can be a bit rich, so don't order if you can't stomach this type of food).... Here a few wks ago for a catch up with mate,had a latte and a gorgeous slice,generous portion of lemon cake,with cream on the side.Presentation,and service from the staff was excellent.Lovely decor with fancy jars of jams,chetneys,chocolates,teas,etc displayed for sale.Rrstaurant was packed at 3 in the afternoon,lucky got a seat at the front,with all the fancy shelving,jars,etc displayed.Probably more upmarket from the stores in Dublin,attract more of a mixed cliantelle.My first time here at... This is a very cluttered store very similar to their store in Powerscourt with all their usual Avoca offerings. A separate room for their cheese and for their roast chickens. The cooked chickens were coming in at over €12 each which was very expensive, A scone to take away was €1.85 again very expensive. I knew that when this Avoca opened that Monsktown would always be packed, and so far, I've been right. If you can, walk. The adored culinary aspects of the Avoca chain have been crammed into the former Seagreen premises, and whilst the décor is typically pleasing, it can be hard to get around when it's busy (which is often).
