Not As Good as Rathcoole Outlet, but Still Good

(02 May 2012)

Report

by: Nigel D. 3 out of 5

Perhaps not fair to compare it with the variety, feel and size of my 'usual'outlet (Rathcoole). This outlet is very small by comparison , and downstairs is rather dark as obviously there are no windows. However , what they do hace is good, and essentially a smaller selection of sone of the goods and food items which they have in their larger stores. Bakery ismy gfavourite- bought banana bread loaf yesterday-not cheap at €7.50- but absolutely delightfully fresh and delicious!... Read more...

I think the shop has actually got some beautiful things in it, especially the kitchen stuff, like plates, mugs etc, beautifully designed and decorated. However it gets even better when you go downstairs into the cafe, it has an amazingly relaxed but sophisticated vibe which is a really hard combination to come by. the interior is my favourite thing about the entire place, as well as the vibe. The only obvious downside is that the place is really expensive so not good when im broke!... Read more...

this shop is lovely and even from the outside the window display can be so enticing, they usually have a cluttered window display with chandeliers but it just just so effortlessly chic!! the selection in here is to die for, i really like the shabby chic/laura ashley floral designs and trinkets. although most of their stuff is very dear, they make excellent gifts which are sure to impress. never eaten at the cafe so cant comment on that..... The Avoca Store is wonderful, beautiful and wide ranging in product, including clothes, jewelery, amazing cookbooks, trinkets such as kettles, however it is expensive. The basement has a lovely selection of food, which again has a lovely selection of Gluten Free goods, not too numerous, but still a nice selection. There are also a wide range of groceries to buy and have to enjoy at home, again you are paying for the privilege of difference.... Read more...

The Avoca Store & Café on Suffolk Street is a beautiful store selling womens clothes, jewellery, cook books, food, and lots of little trinkets and gadgets for the home and are ideal as presents. On the ground floor you have the women clothes and a nice collection of jewellery items and little jewellery boxes, picture frames, kitchen and garden items, children wear and toys. In the basement lovely foods, breads, jams, chutneys and these are different if pricey and delicatessen and... Read more...

Floral Haven

Avoca is full of everything frilly and floral, a pure girls delight. Its products mainly centre around the kitchen and also has a number of quality Irish clothing labels in store as well, selling Irish hearty woollen jumpers and frocks. What Avoca is really known for though is the food. Downstairs there is a beautiful little cafe with all of the best Avoca recipes. This is a great place to come for lunch especially with your gran. Picking up an Avoca cookbook on the way out is a must! ... Read more...

I used to come here every friday with the girls for lunch and a chat. Its a lovely place but its a little on the pricey side. The foods tastes lovely and you would be tempted to go there everyday but unfortuately money does not grow on trees. THe service is great, they are alway busy when we go in at lunch time so that a good sign :-)... Read more...

This is a favourite place of mine to head whenever I happen to be in town with my Mother in Law. We usually head in loaded down with bags after a hard days shopping and refresh with a chat and a tea and a scone. The food can be on the pricy side but it really is worth the treat. My favourite part is browsing through the store on the way to and from the tea rooms, definitely recommend this place ... Read more...

Can not stress how yummy the food from Avoca is. Whether you are in the upstairs restaurant, the downstairs cafe or get some take-away, you will be in for a pleasurable eating experience. I have yet to eat something in Avoca that I didn't like. I enjoy meeting friends here for lunch, but you need to get there early if you there are more than two or you may struggle to get a seat together as it is quite popular. I love having a wonder through the shop but seldom buy here unless it is for a... Read more...
