I was dragged here recently because it is on the must see restaurants of She who Must be Obeyed. We had a drink in the terrace area that was nice but very quiet as we were going for an Early Bird. That's the problem with Early Birds you can be just too early. There is nothing worse than sitting alone in a restaurant. Do you get a freshly prepared meal or are you getting re-heats from lunchtime. I used to work in Rathgar and if my memory serves me well this premises used to be a furniture... Read more...

Happy
(22 May 2011)

Had a family occasion here recently and we were pleased, the decor is beautiful and the place has a lovely friendly feel about it. The food was lovely and everybody was happy and we are not an easy lot to please. I had no part in paying the bill but I beleive it is quite expensive. The staff we encountered were professional and attentive and in short I would have no problem recommending the place to anybody.... Read more...

A treat
(27 March 2011)

When I lived locally this was my favourite place to go, I've since moved away but still go back for a treat. Firstly, it's not a pretentious as it appears from the outside. The decor is warm and Cosy yet elegant and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The goats cheese starter is my favourite as it's full of flavour, yet I seem to be the black sheep as everyone prefers their fishcakes. For the main course it has to be the steak. Two words to sum it up? Do it. ... Read more...

Lacking something, a shame!
(17 March 2011)

Pity, as the food in the restaurant upstairs was excellent, but like most high end restaurants in Dublin, the staff let it down. The menu upstairs was quiet limited with pork, fish, beef. Where was the chicken on the main menu? Most of the staff here are Indian and while many of the waiters appeared quiet pleasant, our waiter hardly cracked a smile and definitely did not make us feel overly welcome given that we just spent €140 on dinner for 2. Your bar man upstairs also need training in... Read more...

The Perfect Restaurant
(24 February 2011)

What is there to say about Bijou? You'd be suprised at what a relaxing night it can be. Whether you decide to go dressy or casual, Bijou makes you feel welcome and at home with every aspect. The dim lights, candles, a menu that still makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The food was melt in the mouth, I have never had such an amazing steak, duck, burger or any of the other hundreds of meals I have eaten there. The wine and cocktails are top class and not as expensive as you would think.... Read more...

This is a truly lovey, homely restaurant. The food is first class. The atmosphere is so homely. The smoking area upstairs is so cool. The staff are very attentive. Try the crab cakes, they are delicious as are the deserts.... Read more...

I am a regular customer at Bijou, and I am not that old!!!! I think !!!!! "27". I love the place and so do my buddies and girlfriend. I've ofter sauntered in for Brunch on Sunday, really bustling yet relaxed. At night its a very very busy spot. But I've had a beer or two while waiting. Over Bank Holiday I was in for the Fish and Chips - really good value (I think about 15), nice friendly waiting staff, who are not intrusive and overall I think one of the best spots in... We go to Bijou reasonably frequently mostly just for a coffee or a light snack but decided to push the boat out this weekend and go there for dinner with some friends who were visiting from overseas. The first thing to note about Bijou is that the staff are always friendly and accommodating. 4 of us turned up on Valentine's night fully expecting to be turned away at the door but not a bit of it - we were shown upstairs to the bar where we were able to enjoy a drink whilst we waited for our...
