Updating - Quality dis improving
(26 June 2010)
by: Mick G. 2 out of 5
I have already written a pretty glowing review for Bombay Pantry, but given the consistently poor quality of beef I am forced to reassess my judgement. On the last 2 occasions, the beef has been very tough, so much so that is ruins a perfectly good Indian. To top it off, my wife's dish last night was extremely poor in that the beef was as before - tough. I can always accept a once off, but consistently now the quality is falling. don't get me wrong, the dishes can be excellent, just avoid the... Read more...

Delicious.

I completely agree with the first two reviews. Before The Bombay Pantry I wasn't a big fan of Indian food, however, all it took was their chicken korma and I was convinced. Their portions are huge so one portion would feed two. They also sell frozen and chilled food to cook on a day you're feeling lazy, which is handy. But I agree with the first reviews, when i went there the staff were very rude and almost seemed annoyed with having to serve you. ... Read more...

Bad Bad Bad
(20 January 2010)

Who the hell is this manager dude! Can you imagine having a full scale screaming match with your chef in front of customers. How did I know he was the manager??....He had a tag on this tight little shirt! Well yes folks, this is exactly what went on here recently. I was standing front row so had a ring side view. If that was not enough, the manager just turned to me as if nothing had happened and said "yes". Normally you would forgo this behaviour if the food was exceptional, but in... Read more...

Excellent food, but poor standard of service
(21 September 2009)
by: J O. 3 out of 5
I would give the food here 5 stars, it is excellent. However, I found the level of customer service from the weekend front of house server to be very poor, bordering on rude on several occassions- so much so, that I completely stopped getting take out from here for over a year - prior to that I used to get a take away every other weekend. Im going to paste the comment Mick left under Sheila's review here, as it sums up this branch - they really need to work on their customer service skills.... Read more...

Food excellent, service declining
(19 September 2009)
by: Mick G. 4 out of 5
You cannot really fault the food here as probably the nicest Indian I have ever tasted. Recently they have reduced their prices to 2005, which means you can get a dish with rice for 8, which is delivering the all important value for money we all now grave. The delivery times are pretty good too. What used to stand out for me was the sincerity and charm of the front counter staff. However that appears to have dissappeared and instead you have this dude with his manager tag, that can only... Read more...

Best in World (even India)
(20 August 2009)
by: Freddy S. 5 out of 5
I once visited India. I passed a guy who was baking naan bread in the ground, It was delicious. I then tried some of his curry and it was even better. It doesnt get much better than this. I was wrond. Bombay Pantry is the best. I think they must put something in the food to make it taste so good. Watch out for the naan's though which are stale and dry. You wont go wrong with the rest. Pricey - BUT, worth it. ... Read more...

Probably the best takeout in dublin
(27 July 2009)
by: Sean R. 5 out of 5
Everything about this Indian is excellent. If your an existing customer and you call up, all you have to do is give them the first few digits of your number and they will welcome you by name. I always go to pick up for speed as usually takes about 20 min to 30 min. The staff are extremely polite and the open kitchen (which is spotless) really builds your graving for that Indian. I always like when a take out tells you "enjoy your meal sir" - how many of them say that? The food... Read more...

Top Indian on the Southside of Dublin
(21 May 2009)
by: Helen G. 5 out of 5
This Indian is really, really good....It is usually busy at the weekends but it is definitely worth waiting for! My top recommendations would be the Lamb Bhuna and the Chicken Byrianni-However, I advise you to avoid the Vindaloo Curry as it can amke you lose all sense of taste, I love hot curries, but even I wasnt able to finish it...Aslo, give the onion Bhajis a go...divine!!...
