Too sickly sweet

(29 October 2011)

The cafe is tiny, too small to actually enjoy a coffee indoors. If you do order a coffee, you will get a 'free' chocolate, as said before by another reviewer, the coffee is rather expensive. Also, if you order a Mocha or something chocolate based, not only do you not get a choice of chocolates, it is also very sickly sweet and if you take a big swig, you get lumps down your throat and if anything is milk based, it gets very cold very quickly. I don't go here unless someone else has organised... Read more...

"Free Sweet" not Free

(19 October 2011)

What bugs me about Butles Cafe is the Free Sweet which isnt actually Free its built into the price. The drinks are expensive and if you order a chocolate drink like hot chocolate or a mocha you dont even get to choose your Free chocolate they give you a standard one. When your friend having a coffee can choose from any chocolate they want and your are buying the more expensive drink and have choice taken away, it really annoys me. Not Impressed. ... Read more...

small cafe but beautiful chocolate

This is a fantastic place to grab a take-away hot chocolate and they are just delicious. They also offer you a chocolate to accompany your drink. I love the way the chocolates are presented in the glass case allowing you to make your own selection, instead of buying a box where you only like certain ones. They do have readymade products to purchase off the shelf and always are wrapped up beautifully. The quality of the chocolate is second to none, definitely worth the few euro extra for a... im not a huge fan of chocolate but i adore the hot chocolate from here, it is so deliciously creamy and rich and defo worth the asking price. the coffee in here is excellent too, i like mine strong and full of taste. there is a huge selection of chocolates, none looked tempting enough for me to buy any but im sure if you are a chocolate lover this is probably paradise. the staff are always friendly and smiley too.... Butlers

(02 October 2011)

Report

by: Dee D. 3 out of 5

This Butlers is great and even though it is tiny the coffee and chocolates that hey serve are excellent. Not a lot of seats to sit down at and if you are lucky enough then enjoy. Their selection of chocolates are delicious and so hard to choose which ones to have. Always excellent coffee or hot chocolate and their teas are pleasant enough, not terribly dark looking but a nice flavour and not bitter.... Read more...

Nice but I can never get a seat!

Butlers cafe is brilliant. You get a free chocolate with your hot drink. The selection of buns/pasteries is tempting and most of them are really nice. I recommend the oatmeal and cranberry cookie which is out of this world. The coffee is good - my favourite is their latte which if you manage to be lucky enough to sit in the cafe they serve in a tall glass cup that makes it look tempting. Unfortunately there are very few seats, so be prepared to get yours to go.... Read more...

Possibly the most famous coffee shop in Ireland, they're everywhere! Their coffees are divine, they taste of exclusivity and like they were made to tailor to you. They also have a great selection of chocolates that are exquisite, not only do they look amazing but they taste yummy! Their hot chocolates are to die for, made from real chocolate it really gives them an edge on the competition.... Read more...

Butlers chocolate cafes seem to almost everywhere in this part of town. There is 3 in 5 mins walking distance between each other. They are all very good and pretty much the same. The coffee here is very good. I would come here more often but I still prefer my regular cafe. The coffee here is a little bit pricey but you do get a free chocolate of your choice. (Little early for chocolate with my morning coffee). The boxes of chocolate they sell although very tasty are very... Read more...

Boy have you seen the Easter range of Butlers Chocolate. Mmm I bought several of them already as presents for myself family and friends. Deliciously indulgent and luxurious, I think I am addicted to Butlers chocolate. Wicklow Street Café is the one I meet my friend’s, we all squeeze in to the corner and treat ourselves to wonderful butlers chocolate and coffee. Staff are always so friendly and they appear to love their jobs, they are so accommodating.... Read more...

I am such an avid fan of butlers that I know where each one in Dublin is, so that I can be ready to give in to my chocolate craving wherever I am in the city.A tip from me , is to ask for strong hot chocolate ( not for the weak hearted). If you order a coffee they give you a free chocolate which you can choose from their delicious selection. Such a good idea for a cafe !!!... Read more...
