Its difficult to get excited about this restaurant - it served its pupose of providing ok food for the family - both adults and kids with coffee that was just ok too and the prices were not a surprise - they were on the usual airport trend of being a bit more than average. The food was nice enough here but way overpriced even by airport prices. The place itself is bright & spacious. It was very busy the day we were there & it took a while to get served. The staff were fairly typical of airport restaurant staff - had no interest in the world in the customers. i had chips and a chicken kiev here on my way to a holiday. the food was actually very nice and i was given a decent portion. i had allowed extra money in the budget for airport food being more expensive so wasnt really that horrified by the prices. they are more expensive than in cork city but that is to be expected. i was happy with the service too. ... Difficult to say anything nice about the food in this restaurant. was very disapointed on a number of occasions. Cooked breakfast especially leaves a lot to be desired. Quite expensive also. Miss the view from the old airport. Hardly much choice when in the airport so stuck with this restaurant most of the time. Much to my dismay on a recent trip through Cork airport, I was extremely disappointed to find that not even a decent cup of coffee was on offer ay Cork airport. I was about to embark on a 24 hour jorney to India and was really looking forward to a nice warm tasty cappuccino before I jetted off, but alas what I got I actually couldn't drink - it was freshly made in front of me but I actually couldn't drink it so bad was the taste... it is very hard to say anything positive about this resturant, and hard to avoid using the term rip-off. it is to its credit bright and eaasy to move around in. however i find the staff unfriendly and often sullen. the food is limited and very lacking in fresh produce. the hot meal section is good if not expensive for what you get. for a traveller not wanting a roast meat meal the choices are much more limited with very little in the lighter meals to choose from. i feel it knows it can target... Kylemore have an excellent reputation for good food

You can always expect to pay more for food at places like Airports, bus and train stations because the number of places offering food is limited. That does not mean they intentionally set out to rip off customers but you will pay a bit more there unfortunately. Kylemore have a great reputation for good quality cooked food so you usually get what you pay for a fine meal to enjoy. This cafe is located on the first floor in Cork Airport. I think this place needs a wake up call. Talk about ripping the public off !! Way to expensive especially for the quality of food on offer. I'll start by saying that this is far too expensive, even for an airport cafe. the food is bland and simple, where you can expect to pay €3 for a medium sized scone, and you have to pay extra for jam and butter! some people may have no problem paying this amound of money but it really is far too much for basic food which isn't very special at all. personally, unless i really needed a cup of tea/coffee, i would bring my own food and drink to avoid paying sky-high prices for something which... If you happen to find yourself in Cork airport and hungry you could do worse than visit the Kylemore upstairs. It is pricey but I have yet to visit an airport where the prices are not, so on the basis that the food is good quality and the service excellent then I have to say that I would recommend this cafe...
