Unreal Decor

(06 January 2012)

Report

by: Sam S. 4 out of 5

The decor in this place is actually unreal, like something out of the Titanic movie, and such are many of the people dining here too, the place reeks of sophistication and splendid opulent furnishings. The tea we had was excellent too, served well, tasty and the atmosphere relaxed, even the price wasnt bad to my suprise! The only downfall of the place was the service, the waitress who served us was great but we had to wait around for 5-10 minutes to pay for our bill and there was really bad... Read more...

Moulin Rouge.

(09 December 2011)

The O'Dwyer brothers, Liam and Des created Cafe en Seine as well as Howl at the Moon and Break for the Border amongst others. Two Clonskeagh lads that I knew well and decent lads altogether. Often saw them down at their mobile home in Wexford. Cafe en Seine is really nice inside. A bit Moulin Rouge with big mirrors, chandeliers etc. You can sit outside and watch the world go past. Prices can be expensive. Such a pity that Capital Bars ended up with financial problems as they had great taste and... Read more...

came to cafe en seine one night during a hen party. The inside is not what you would expect at all judging from the outdside, its just beautiful. the music on the night was actually very good, the drinks however as you can imagine were very very overpriced. crowd seemed slightly older than my 21 years seemed mostly late 20s early 30s. will not be returning anytime soon, although it was good for the night that was in it ... i have only been here once, i went after work with a few work mates for a few drinks. i was very impressed when we walked in, because from the outside i wasnt expecting much but inside is very plush and lavish. i loved the decor!! it was about 7 o' clock and it wasnt too packed and it wasnt too hard to get served at the bar. the crowd in here are a little bit pretentious but then again its the area, all the places along here are the same! i would go back again with the girls..... cafe en seine

the three stars are purely for the amazing decor otherwise dosent have much going for it in terms of atmosphere, friendliness, or decent service.we were kept waiting for about 15 min for our drinks to be delivered to our table. they seem to be of the opinion that we dont have to try in here.like the moving aurthur guiness picture though:)in my opinion the hugely inflated drinks prices certainly dont reflect the service. there were a lot of tourists there that particular evening so i hope they... I meet my girlfriends in Cafe en Seine every Sunday morning for Sunday brunch and have been doing it for some time. We all love it and it would be one of our favourite bars/restaurants to go to. The decor as anyone who has gone there is lovely and certainly different. It's long and very elegant and a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside, with lots of seats to relax either inside or sit outside on the few seats available. Service and atmosphere is always good and the food excellent. ... Read more...

Bit expensive, but you should treat yourself

(07 July 2011)

Cafe en Seine is a bit on the expensive side, however I would recommend going in for a treat. The food was delicious and the white wine I had with it was even better! The decor in the place is amazing - to the extent that I spent a large amount of time looking around me instead of concentrating on what the people I was with were saying! The toilets were extremely lavishly decorated as well which was a pleasant surprise. I cant wait to go back for a treat sometime.... Read more...

Good place for a few drinks and a snack or a lunch. Has a great look about the place,it's all lavish chandeliers, art deco ornaments and mirrors, and goes way back and is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Gets seriously busy at the weekend but still plenty of room to move about. The crowd are friendly and it's a good place for people watching. The food and drink is a bit pricey but it's a good place to meet up after work or at the weekend. Bar staff are friendly with no... Read more...

Wow!Cafe en Seine really is a stunning place - especially if you appreciate the art deco genre. It's like being on an art deco cruise on a huge ship You just lose yourself here - I could sit here for hours getting pleasantly plonked ! It's really pretty at night when all the lights are lit and it has a kind of magical atmosphere !The place seems to attract tourists and office workers. ... Read more...

Lovely Midweek, Avod weekends

(04 April 2011)

I've loved Cafe En Seine since my college days, 7 years ago. Recently I would have to say the crowd has changed a bit - I would totally avoid at the weekends as it seems to attract a different type of customer. Midweek however, I still enjoy the odd drink here. Pricewise I think it's ok - I love the building itself & there's a nice mainly european crowd during the week. Not as good as it used to be, but I won't give up on Cafe en Seine yet... Read more...

This has to be the best looking café in Dublin. The inside is really different and great atmosphere. The place is huge, with a wide variety of places to choose from to sit at. I went here on Sunday for Sunday Brunch it’s the perfect place to relax, read the Sunday papers and listen to the resident Café en Seine Jazz Trio. The brunch was plentiful and filling. ...
