not for grannys captain
(11 July 2010)
by: B N. 4 out of 5
ok, so if my granny was coming to visit i wouldn't be phoning captain americas to book a table.its noisy sometimes squashy but i like it in small doses. the only requirement is a full nights sleep the night before i.e headache free. food is reasonably priced, tasty and a full list of choices.you might see pink hair, nose piercing but hey i'm not perfect either although i know you'd beg to differ! go on give it a try... Perfect student bar !!
(28 June 2010)
by: Marshall K. 5 out of 5
Always buzzing with hords of students from all over the city, this bar/ restaurant serves great simple food and cheap drinks all day. Perfect for just hanging, having a few drink, getting some reasonably priced food. Most main meals cost from €11-22 and are generally things like burgers, pizza, pasta, mexican. The food is always up to a really good standard and if you have a 2 for 1 card you can get a good meal for cheaper than your average McDonalds. If you don't have a card for 2 for 1... Read more...

More expensive than other places that offer similar fare, but well worth it. Friendly staff, great cocktails and interesting burger combinations. Drink promotions are fantastic, especially for students.... Read more...

good for pre-drinks!
(09 April 2010)
by: Lea F. 3 out of 5
i have been here a lot with my college friends and we have always had a good time! that might have something to do with the 3euro cocktails haha!! we also used to go for the 10 meal deal during the deal, which is quite good! i thought the wait staff were nice and friendly, but the managers seemed a little rude! when myself and my class would go there, they would only let the people who were eating sit down, and i understand that it is a restaurant, but if its not busy, i think thats a bit... Best Place For A Student To Eat
(01 April 2010)
by: Cameron B.
4 out of 5
I've been to Captain Americas dozens upon dozens of times, and it's a good favourite of mine. It is conveniently located just along grafton street and is a prime choice for students in the area given its cheap cocktails and excellent buy one get one free offer on main courses (sorry, students only!). There isn't much to choose from on the menu, and it can be a bit basic, but the meals are always well prepared along with healthy servings! Most people barely finish their main course, so you don't... Read more...

bacon cheese burgers om nom nom
(31 March 2010)
by: Erin F. 4 out of 5
I love the bacon cheeseburgers here. I'm actually craving one right now. The meals are huge and a side of fries is more like a mountain of fries! The chicken enchiladas are the best enchiladas I've ever had. Also you get your food within 5 minutes of ordering it even if the place is packed. Staff are friendly and patient, even if you're taking a million years to decide what you want. The bar isn't that great, I wouldn't even call it a bar. When you're waiting to be seated, sometimes the... Read more...

Hate being held at bar
(29 March 2010)
by: Sue O. 3 out of 5
I hate make a reservation and then being held at the bar, often into the second aperatif, before being seated. The food is great and its a great place to bring my teenagers or send them on their own and its lasted well over the years so its doing something right. However, they've always done the bar before thing which is annoying when you make a reservation. Keep everything else folks but change this. We dont really want two aperatifs when we're getting wine with dinner.... Read more...
