A family member had a double bypass at Blackrock Clinic in Dublin and on discharge they were booked in here for a 2 week convalescent stay. After such a big operation they were naturally very nervous about doing anything and needed to get their confidence back as well as physically recover. The staff here could not have been better. Caritas Convalescent Home is on the busy Merrion Road, Dublin. My mother had a hip operation and was sent here by his Doctor to recuperate, as she lived on her own and could not take care of herself. The home is set in lovely grounds away from the Merrion Road, as is nice and quiet. The staff were pleasant and looked after my mother very well, making sure she did her exercises. My elderly father had a fall so we took him down to A & E in st. Vincents Hospital under advice from his doctor. He was in no condition to return home so the staff in St. Vincent's arranged to get him a room in the nearby Caritas Convalescent Centre. Apparently there is a waiting list to get in here but just as St. Vincent's phoned a bed became available so long as we could get there in 10 minutes.
