Carluccios
(25 August 2011)

Carluccios is very well located on the corner of Dawson Street and Duke Street and you cannot miss it, and has lots of indoor and outdoor seating and has stretched further along Duke Street, it makes the area look very continental with their lovely blue canopy. Stopped of for Sunday brunch and the restaurant was already filling up. They also serve lunch. The food is good if a little pricey compared to food I have had in Italy. Service good. ... Read more...

Carluccios is well located on the corner of Dawson Street and Duke Street in Dublin. I have been a few times and always have the same breakfast of fresh orange juice and eggs benedict, very good, followed by excellent coffee. Brilliant Italian food and this cafe is clean and the interior and exterior very impressive. They sell many Italian products in their shop like a mini-Italian grocery shop. Plenty of tables and chairs and some seating outside to watch the world go by and enjoy your food. ... Read more...

Top of my list...
(18 May 2011)
by: MT T. 5 out of 5
Sometimes if I really like a restaurant, I become oddly possessive of it; I feel like I know and appreciate it better than anyone else. Unjust, untrue, and unfair - I know. That's how I feel about Carluccio's. I love it's bright, easy atmosphere; it's amiable service. Not everything on the menu appeals me. I'm not a pasta fan, surprisingly, and I'm not into ciabatta or coffee. But I think that this is the kind of menu where you have your reliable favourites, even if it does alter with the... Lemoncello
(01 May 2011)

We flew with Ryanair to Alghero in Sardinia two years ago. We went a bit out of season and it was very quiet. We stayed at the Hotel Angedras about 15 minutes walk from the Old Town. A nice hotel and recommended. However keep the windows closed at night as we got bitten by some Mozzies. One of products that is produced in Sardinia is Lemoncello. Now you either like this stuff or you don't. A bit like Marmite I suppose. You can get this stuff in a number of outlets here in Dublin and it is... Read more...

lovely

Usually go here at the weekends. Lovely sitting outside with a coffee and a sandwich, which was very nice, watching the world go by. Service can be a bit slow but hey I am not in a hurry on a sunday morning. I find the place nice and relaxing, no hurry to move you on.... Read more...

Hit and miss
(04 February 2011)
by: Angie R. 3 out of 5
I'm not too keen on this place - it really has the feel of being part of a franchise - Italian by numbers. There's nothing too bad about the set-up, it's just very soulless. The staff seem to bustle around and look hassled but the service is only so-so, it's like being served by robots. It's also pretty expensive and taking that into account, the food really isn't good enough. I'd be more likely to drop in here for a quick coffee than a meal after past experiences.... Read more...

Good coffee
(12 January 2011)
by: Franco L. 3 out of 5
This is the Irish branch of the chain owned by Antonio Carluccio and it is perhaps this which gives it the impersonal feeling as opposed to a restaurant where the owner is on site. The coffee is delicious but the food is hit and miss and the staff are efficient but seem to look right through you. Quite expensive for what it is considering the good value available elsewhere nowadays. Food is definitely not 'authentic' Italian but some of the dishes, like the chicken liver pate are pretty tasty. ... Read more...

Delicious, but very busy
(14 November 2010)
by: Lucy M. 4 out of 5
A very busy Italian. Went there for breakfast early Saturday and it was already full, with queues gathering outside. Staff looked too busy to pay any extra attention. Got Italian bread and scarmbled eggs, which was delicious. Coffee very strong, but nice. A lovely place for lunch/breakfast, but very loud. There is a little shop at the front selling Italian meats/cheese/sweets, etc.... Read more...

Good place
(18 September 2010)
by: Oisin L. 4 out of 5
This is an excellent value place, and some nice dishes in there. I had a gnochi to start, and wasn't disappointed, my girlfriend had the rice cakes which were also lovely. The main course (I had the liver) was tasty but not amazing. Add in a bottle of wine and we came to €70 for two. Though this is probably brilliant value in dublin. The service was lovely and very friendly. I would definitely go again.... Read more...

Why Are We Waiting?!!
(02 September 2010)
by: S C. 0 out of 5
Have been here a few times once it wasn't good - grit in the sea food Yuck. Next time it was amazing - fresh pasta with mushrooms delicious & great service, then it was rubbish again . So decided to give it one more go hoping for the best. We went on a sunny afternoon just before 2pm - lunchtime rush was over and there was a seat outside. We waited , and waited , and waited...... then my boyf went inside to get the menus - he was told a waiter would come out with them. We waited and... Read more...

Nice location and space - overpriced food
(30 July 2010)
by: Niall D. 3 out of 5
Stopped by here for a quick solo bite while waiting to meet a friend elsewhere later. It was lunchtime a couple of days ago. Secured a nice table on street and caught a few rays of sunshine. Waitress was Italian and so had the usual Italian way of doing things. I just wanted a quick starter and a drink and got the usual sigh when declining a main course or desert. Ordered a bruschetta which was very nice and drink. Both overpriced for what they were. Had a tea after and the bill including... Read more...
