Had to drop a relative off at Connolly Station and thought it had improved a lot. Nice old building. Good parking facilities so convenient and we were able to bring all their luggage only a short distance. Plenty of taxis and bus links and Dart nearby. There is a ticket vending machine and ATM, booking office and a shop. Its always busy and safe and you can travel as far as Galway, Sligo and many more routes. Nice helpful staff. ... Read more...

this station has really moved with the times and with the luas connected now it is really easy to get to alot of part,s of dublin without having to walk half way around the city beacause it is all right here the building it self has not changed which is good to keep some of the old charm of the station and your only a few minute,s walk from o,connell street right in the heart of the city and with a few small shop,s in the station it,s handy to get a few bit,s for your train ride home. ... I'm not a huge fan of connolly station for the main reason being it's such a trek to get to the platform where I get my dart. I've always had trouble with the ticket machines which refuse to read my ticket and I end up having to red facedly walk over to the disability access to ask them to let me through. There's a nice pub in here though that you can get a drink in if you have time whole you wait for your train and it is also connected to the luas line so thats handy enough... Read more...

I regularly use connolly station, as it is right beside my place of work. Perhaps the most convenient thing about this station is the fact that it links up to the luas line. There is also a nice bar in the station upstairs called Oslo which is a handy place to stop in for a pint if you are waiting a long time for a train. It is a fairly big station as it serves belfast as well as the north side and south side of Dublin.... Read more...

Although this train station is quite handy as it is right at the end of Talbot street I think it could do with a good dose of cleaning up. It is rather on the old side and quite dark but it wouldnt put me off using it again.... Read more...

Greatly improved

I remember when this place was a complete kip but in recent years it's had a serious overhaul and is now a far more pleasant place from which to start your journey. They have plenty of security staff on, which is a necessary evil given the dodginess of the area. The fact that the Luas is right outside now makes it far more accessible from the city centre and also finally links it up with Heuston Station. There is pretty much everything you expect in a train station - an overpriced newsagents,... Read more...

Well for what it is, its great in my opinion...well situated to a point (about 10mins from o'conell st) and right at the end of the red tallaght luas line. there is a shop with magazines and sweets and a coffee area with seating available. the trains are quite regular. the only thing i would complain about is paying for the toilets (20cents) and the general price of the trains themselves, there unbelievably expensive :( but then again apart from buses thats it if you want to get there you pay... Connolly Station

Like Heuston Station Connolly Station is handier to get to now as the Luas goes that way. The station itself always seems busy. There is a coffee shop and newsagent there which is handy. The ticket machines are great they are self explanatory and they save alot of time queuing. The station is crazy busy during rush hours and the trains are fairly regular tickets prices are quite reasonable for short journeys.... Read more...

Great central train station with a stop for the luas right outside which is great for getting around the city. It is constantly improving and it bright, modern and spacious. Staff are generally very helpful if you have a problem or query. it is constantly busy but that's to be expected with its location and the number of trains coming into and leaving the station on a daily basis. Handy for the dart too.... Read more...

Improving Gradually
(22 October 2010)
by: Christopher O. 3 out of 5
I have been using Connolly Train Station for years and I have really noticed the changes over he last 5 years. The main lobby section of the station is now modern, clean and attractive with large windows looking out towards the Luas Stop. There is adequate seating if you have to wait a long time for your train as well as good eating places. The toilets are where the most significant improvement has taken place, turning what was once 'enter at your peril' squalor into somewhere quite... Read more...

Connolly is a good station, my main reason for using it is for getting the DART and it does the job, they have the real time timetable display above the turstiles so you know exactly what time the DART is due at, which I appreciate. It's also very handy the way the LUAS stops right outside of the station. What does annoy me is the large amount of pigeons that walk around the platforms, surely there's some sort of health and safety issue with that? Otherwise, it's a good station.... Read more...

very good

The outside can look a little shady, especially late at night but not because of the design or decor of the station, just because of the people who hang around outside of it. Inside the station is great, its very easy to find where you're going because the signs are clear and helpful. Theres plenty of seating for those who have to wait for their train, the ticket machines are faster than queuing for a ticket from the office though!... Read more...
