Donnybrook Fair

(17 April 2011)

This Donnybrook Fair is on 13 Baggot Stret opposite Baggot Street hospital Everything ln the shop is top quality. I love all their condiments especially the sun dried tomatoes. Good for buying a few little gifts for family and friends. it is a little cramped but that does not take from it. There's everything from convenience food to wine, a quality deli counter, breads and sweets, flowers, gifts and magazines, and a juice and coffee bar. They offer event and office catering.... Good take away lunch, but pricey

Nice for a take away lunch althought the queues have a tendancy to be very long- efficient though! Don't settle for a pre packed sandwich if you don't have time to queue- they'll be a few hours old and won't compare! Quite expensive- went to buy icecream here and a 500ml tub was over €9!! ... Good -Would Be Excellent If Not So Pricey

Produce here is top-quality , whether it be the ready made sandwiches ,the deli, wine shop or the lovely imported sauces and delicacies that are stocked. Today, however , their lovely , sizeable rhubarb tarts were reduced from €6.99 to €4.99, but good value is generally hard to find -ie go for the luxury and the taste , not if you're looking for something cheap! Store has a really upmarket feel, staff immaculately dressed in waistcoats and bow ties , and they really are appealing... Read more...

Fresh at Donnybrook Fair

I do 'top up' shopping here, because it is very expensive, and much of what I buy is in the 'half price' counter. ... Good points: The food is very fresh. Good pastries. Great lamb curry. Tasty potato dauphinoise. .... I like the dessert in a plastic cup - strawberries and cream and meringue; the Rachel's organic yoghurt, the chocolate cakes, very fresh muffins, and the salads which come in a large plastic box with dressing included. .... Okay, it's more expensive than the supermarket,... Read more...

As I work close by I use Donnybrook Fair quite often - they have a great range of everything especially healthy choices which I am mostly looking for!!! I go there most days for an organic juice as they have a juice bar and their produce is fresh, only problem is there's only ever 1 person working at the bar and I have been queueing for 15 mins which is annoying on your lunch break - still its great and not too expensive at 3.50. I'm glad this place is close by my office. Its definately a... Read more...
