Very old building but good dentistry

(03 November 2011)

When my two sons were younger we visited here quite a few times on referral from our own Dentist. I remember my first impression was not great because it is such an old style building and everything looked from another era. After our second visit I decided it was not the building we should worry about but the quality of the dentistry that is carried on there and that was excellent. One of my sons was referred from there to have a stay in another hospital up beside Heuston Station to... Read more...

Dental Hospital

(26 September 2011)

The Dental Hospital is that stark austere red building beside Trinity College. My first experience was when as a kid I had to be brought to the place to have a few teeth taken care off. I was terrified because my brother had been in the previous year for the same reason and he frightened the living day lights out of me with the stories he told saying they would have to take all my teeth out. Well the hospital did have a few of those tales going about but then was old but now is a modern... Read more...

As a child I was brought here twice by my parents. I must have been very small as I was having some of my baby teeth taken out. The memories have stayed with me to this day. I remember lying down and being surrounded by dentists (students) in white coats. A huge big light was above the bed. A mask was place over my mouth and I was given sleeping gas. I remember the panic of being unable to breathe. Ever since then I cannot stand having anything over my mouth/face. Many years later teeth... Read more...

I was out one night with the girls when I broke my back tooth. I had no pain, maybe the drink numbed it, but the next morning when I woke dear God I thought I was going to die with the pain. I rang my own dentist to discover he was closed and did not offer an emergency service. it was Saturday and I rang numerous dentists and they were all closed. In sheer desperation I contacted the Dental Hospital but they refused to entertain me as it was not an accident. Put up with the pain for 4 hours... Read more...

I used to always DREAD going here, but I don't really know why? The staff really put me at ease when I was there, despite my huge fear of the dentist. I came back here with the Colgate free dental check up voucher and they were ever so professional, despite them knowing that I was not paying them in money! I never had to wait for long in the waiting rooms and there was always good magazines on offer- thats whats important ;)... Read more...

Great Service

I have recently had the misfortune of having to attend the Dental Hospital here in Dublin. I unfortunately had a splititng toothache for nearly 3 days and could not get an appointment with my own dentist for nearly 2 weeks. A colleague in work suggested I give the Dental Hospital a try. I can't stand needles (have a phobia about them) and am not a great patient in the Dentists normally. This is a great service. You initailly register and get called into triage where a dentist...
