not great
(13 June 2012)
by: olivia j. 3 out of 5
Too many adverts on this station and they repeat the songs alot. The breakfast show is over the top they try too hard and it comes across as silly. I only listen the odd time now as there are better stations out there. The music is only ok but they repeat the same few songs all the time. I think alot of people used to listen to 98fm but have now switched off due to other stations upping their game... Read more...

Don't listen to it as much as I used to, they don't play good songs and tend to have the same few on rotation every three or four hours. The presenters are good fun and have likable voices, they sometimes have good competitions but most of the competitions are uninteresting. I wish they'd listen to people on twitter and facebook and play the songs that they recommend. Could be a lot better.... Read more...

Theres a lot better out there
(24 April 2012)

Would agree with Angie on this one, 98fm has run its course in my opinion. Music is middle of the road , bland and inconsistent. The morning show is juvenile, unfunny and downright annoying sometimes. There are a ton of better stations out there. Not one thats high on my list.... Read more...

I used to listen to this station years ago. I think everyone did. But as I got older my tastes have changed. All their dj's sound the same to me and every hour is the same, same music. My daughter however loves this station as it is her favourite. The Joan Lee show in the evenings can be very good but has many cringe moments. This would probably be my favourite show on 98fm. ... interesting topics
(03 October 2011)

I only listen to Dublins 98FM for their classic hits and they play a nice mix and great for all age groups. The Morning Crew can be a bit too lively and early for me. Joan Lee has some interesting topics and discussion on and some people’s opinion are strange and its good to hear another side of a story and callers can get worked up over very little, especially when someone disagrees with them. I have no real loyalty to any station.... Read more...

Dermot and Dave are the best duo on this station ..they are on weekdays from 4-7pm and their personalities really shine through. There are news updates every half hour and the music played on this station is generally the latest hits of rnb and dance with a few oldies thrown into the mix now and then just to spice things up a bit. There are about the same amount of ads on this station as the others.... For me the best thing to come out of 98fm is the Toll trolls - an absolutely hillarious duo who do a comedy type sketch and have voices like the chipmunks. I found myself downloading their podcasts to my ipod and when I listen to them on public transport, I get the strangest looks while I am literally bursting into fits of laughter what a fantastic creative and humourous pair !... Least favourite

I listen to a wide variety of stations depending on my mood and what I'm looking for, from Newstalk to 2fm to Phantom, but as far as I'm concerned, 98fm really has nothing to offer me. Their breakfast show is painful and the presenters' sense of humour is juvenile as opposed to light-hearted. If I land on this by station by mistake in the morning and hear the trolls it's enough to put me in a foul humour. The music is of the Celine Dion variety, also fairly annoying. Not a fan.... i quite enjoy the odd dabble in 98fms breakfast show. its entertaining when your half and sleep and dont require a whole lot of intellectual stimulation. that said i really miss dave on it. that chap was hillarious by times. the music choices could be slightly more up to date but i guess their target market isnt necessarily twenty somethings.... Love the attiude of this radio station, its like having a friend in the room with you most of the time but not mad on their breakfast show so tend to just ignore it at this time. They play great music for the young and old so it is suited to everyones taste. Its easy listening and makes a nice background if you are working or just want some sounds, not the best station but well worth a listen.... Read more...
