Nice mix of Tabloid and Spreadsheet
(17 January 2012)
by: Sarah B. 4 out of 5
Every day I come home and find this on the sofa wedged underneath my fathers ankles. For a euro a day this is not a bad publication at all, sometimes the printing can be a bit off and the images end up looking a tad messy but again, it's for a euro. The nice thing about this paper is that it is easier to handle and read then a broadsheet, yet it is substantially more intelligent then a tabloid newspaper. There are celebrity stories, fashion pages and health tips for the less discerning... Read more...

Broadsheet or Tabloid.
(04 January 2012)
by: Yonder Blue Bayou .. 3 out of 5
In our house there was a preference for the Evening Press. I never purchase an evening newspaper now. Sometimes if I was going to pick up the morning Irish Independent the Evening Herald would already be on display. There is no point in buying it as the news in both is practically the same except perhaps for the front page. However if I remember correctly the next day's horse racing details are available and this gives a lot of people the chance to suss out the form. I also prefer a broadsheet... Read more...

Evening Herald
(03 January 2012)

As a youngster, my Dad used to get this everyday and we would all get a read of it at some stage but over the years we fell away from buying it and now I have to have to say its more of an occassional read for me. at a cost of one euro it was quite reasonable and good for catching up especially with the sports news, however dont think its worth buying it everyday would much prefer the morning Independant.... Not a bad paper
(03 January 2012)
by: Bunty .. 3 out of 5
I buy this paper every so often and most of the time I enjoy reading it and it's handy to catch up with all the news and all the latest entertainment gossip. If you are interested in sports then the sports section is good. Although I am not interested in sports so I just skip over it. The courts section is always interesting to read and you can now read it online which is very handy and easy to browse. When I was looking for somewhere to rent a while ago I used the Herald to find what I was... Read more...

Alright for a euro
(10 October 2011)
by: D C. 4 out of 5
This is the only evening paper in Dublin and is competitively priced at just one euro. Its always on sale at traffic lights, to catch commuters on their way home. It can be a mixed bag. Somedays its quite thick with plenty of reading and somedays it seems only to have a few pages. Its an easy read with a quick synopsis of whats going on. A huge proportion of t is dedicated to sport. Thursday is a really good day with the "Dubliner" magazine coming free with it. ... Read more...

Greedy Old Dears.

Being a shareholder in Independent News and Media I was able to attend their Annual General Meeting at The Havelock Suite at the Aviva Stadium today. The board of directors got a bit of a toasting from some shareholders during question time. The meeting was however upbeat with good future results being predicted. Before the meeting we were invited to some tea and cake with a very nice selection of cakes available. Unfortunately there is always someone who likes to ruin it for other people.... Read more...

Worth it on a Thursday
(04 February 2011)
by: Angie R. 3 out of 5
The Evening Herald has its uses, although many of these are now being taken over by the internet. I remember the queues of young people standing outside Ranelagh bedsits with a copy of the Herald in their hands, trying to find a flat for themselves! No one really buys this for the quality journalism - it's OK if some major piece of news happened overnight and the morning papers have missed it. The only day of the week that I have started buying the Herald is on a Thursday, when The Dubliner... Read more...

Easy Read
(19 January 2011)
by: Caoimhe M. 4 out of 5
I buy the Evening Herald maybe 3 or 4 times a week. Its very easy to read and doesnt require to much concentration which is good when you have a house load of children interupting you everytime you look at it. It basically gives you the news in brief and them if I am interested enough I will listen to the main news at 9pm. At times they fill it full of drivel literally just to fill up the pages though.... Evening Herald
(02 November 2010)
by: Annie C. 4 out of 5
I like the Evening Herald. They do a few different editions of it each day with the City Final been the last one each day. It is a good paper for getting all the news quick without too much reading. I am also a big fan of their classified section an have used it in the past for hopuse rentals etc. They don't over charge and run the add for 3 days, good jobs section also.... Read more...

Laymans terms
(27 October 2010)
by: Sue S. 5 out of 5
This is a great newpaper for giving you the news in simple laymans terms. It makes very easy reading so its perfect newspaper to wind down while catching up on what is happening out there. This paper has been around for many years and i reckon its going to be around for a good few years to come. Sport section has up to the minute details. Best newspaper out there well that and the Irish Times and Sunday Independant.... Read more...

If you live on the east coast it is the paper you would buy in the evening
(21 September 2010)
by: M. O. 4 out of 5
This paper comes out in 2 editions the early one The National and the later edition The Final. Both would come with different front page headlines depending on the latest news for the Final Edition. Friday it has its own magazine inside. I have always found it to be a reasonably good paper without most of the junk reading you get in the other daily tabloids. However Rosanna and Glenda must have shares in the paper that they get so much free publicity that nobody else cares about.... Read more...

Nothing Special
(11 September 2010)
by: Etain F. 2 out of 5
I only ever buy the Evening Herald on Thurdays, because the Dubliner magazine is now a supplement in it. It's not a newsaper I'm particularly fond of, though it's definitely not the worst tabloid in the world. Sadly, considering there are other things on my mind that generally don't have anything to do with Rosanna Davidson and Glenda Gilson (why do they even get press coverage, what do they even do?!) I have very little interest in. It's worth buying when the Dubliner is in it, otherwise I'd... Read more...
