Great day out for all!
(02 April 2012)
by: Lainee W. 4 out of 5
As I live nearby I would go here a good few times a year. It is a great say out for all the family, they have built a new cafe just inside the entrance & a lovely new wooden little playground for the kids... The only problem with the this playground is the kids see it & its impossible to get them away from it to go around the park itself... I love how all the animals are free & not locked in small enclosures. The park itself has is a lovely walk & great for kids to run of... Read more...

Lovely

Fota is just lovely. I could walk around this place all day. If you get a chance stay in the adjoining Fota island hotel. Together it is a really awesome experience. Thay have some really cute animals and it feels like Noahs arc , there are so many different animals here, you could spend all day wandering around them. It is equally good for littel kids or big kide for that matter. Easy to get to, and there is on site parking, although you do have to pay for the parking, it was fairly cheap... Read more...

fota
(14 February 2012)

Its not everyday that you get to see a wildlife park but this was a very interesting day for me. Animals were well looked after and everything was above board. It is a large park and there are a few eateries which are a little expensive. The Fota shop I thought could have been better stocked, it seems to feature drinks and sweets more than toy animals and games. I think it was 5 or 6 euros to visit for the day but there was no queueing and there was plenty of spaces at the carpark. A... Read more...

fantastic

This is the best park in my opinion. I love it here and so do the kids. The animals are plentiful and well looked after. The kids love the train/bus also. A lovely walk around with a few different trail paths to choose from. The entrance was modernised not so long ago and its fantastic. A playarea, restaurant and gift shop. They also take pictures here for 10 euro - get this done when you enter the parks so its ready for pick up when you leave. ... Read more...

Great fun!
(25 November 2011)

I love fota.Esp since the additions they have made. Its well spaced out ,well laid out and they do a good job of added extras like face painting, art and craft tents and staff around with animals such as the lema's telling you about them. Its really nice near the end of the day too, alot of the animals are fed so they all come out, and its a site to be seen watching the giraffes Q up to cross over into their shed! The only thing i dont like is the cat encloser. It just isnt big enough for... Read more...

not just for kids
(30 September 2011)

I love fota as its a uniquely Irish zoo compared to other zoo's where you feel like once you've seen one zoo you have seen them all and there all alike, i think Fota avoids this dues to its size and laid backness approach to the animals areas, its more like walking around a farm with loads of animals, when I went there wasnt a person under mid-20's and we all had great fun just strolling around, we persumed we'd walk around and be out in no time but if fact were suprised by how much we enjoyed... Love this park!
(17 September 2011)

I really love Fota Wildlife Park! It's a really cool park that hasn't been over commercialized and it gives the animals a really natural environment and can keep you occupied for hours! The only problem I find with it is that it works out quite expensive due to them asking for €14 per adult and €9 per child which I find unreasonable despite the amount of animals they have. I'm guessing it's such a high price due to the costs of maintaining them all. The grounds are kept in pristine... Read more...

good
(17 September 2011)

Fota is a fantastic conservation park with all the wild animals roaming around. The park has Playgrounds, Tour Train, a Resturant and several Picnic areas. When we visited last time we were in Cork the weather was great and it was fairly packed so it is very popular both with the Irish and Tourists. It is a huge park and we got close to some of the animals and we timed it well for feeding time. Some of the animals are endangered in the wild and by having them in Fota they are protected. Fota... Had my banana stolen...
(13 September 2011)
by: Daneka W. 5 out of 5
As a child i came here with family and a monkey ran off with my banana much to the delight of my mum and aunt! I have fond memories of the place because of that incident. I recently returned and loved it as much as i did then. love how you can get so close to the animals and even the ferry ride to the island adds to the excitment! great family day out as there are lots for children to do especially during summer holidays.... Fota Wildlife Park
(13 September 2011)
by: Andrea H. 5 out of 5
We love Fota. They do a really good job adding new bits every year. It can be expensive but family membership is really good value as it also includes Dublin Zoo. We bring a picnic because the food is overpriced as you would expect in places like this. We go at least 3 times a year and our kids never get sick of it.... Read more...

Excellent family day out
(12 September 2011)
by: Jessica O. 5 out of 5
This is a fantastic day out for all the family. My kids love going here and I think we are very lucky to have such a place in Cork. Its very easily accessable whether by car or train from Cork city. The park itself is lovely. It has an excellent selection of amimals that are all well cared for with plenty of space to roam around. The picnic facilities are great, which is helpful as the food you buy out there is typical of this type of place ie has a poor selection and is overpriced. Also has... Read more...
