Old world charm

The Glenlo Abbey Hotel is one of Galway's most prestigious 5* Hotels. It features a stunning golf course and The Pullman Restaurant - which is a Restaurant set outside in the grounds of the hotel and features in replica carriages of the famous Orient Express - one of the carriages is actually the real deal and was painstakingly restored to it's former glory. I'd recommend dining in the Pullman Restaurant if for nothing else but the experience - complete with train noises, whistles and brakes!... Read more...

l was only here once a year ago and reallly enjoyed the experience. l didn't stay in the hotel but celebrated a friends birthday in the restaurant. . lt was a lovely experience . The food and service was excellent. The staff were lovely and very effecient. l had the pate for starters and the seabass for the mains. lt was perfect and so tasty. Most of the group has the steak for mains and it was all cooked to their requirements as some liked it literally cremated. l haven't got the opportunite... Read more...

Charming hotel

My husband and I and another couple visited this hotel last year. It is located about 15 minutes outside Galway City. It really is such a charming hotel, old fashioned sash windows and the interior is really unique. It is the perfect spot for a relaxing break away with the option of travelling to the city nearby. dining i galway

After playing 9 holes of golf on the hotel golf course both my wife and self had worked up quite an apetite so we decided to have lunch in the hotel- as it was a very cold day we had the homemade vegetable soup to start and it was the perfect choice as it really got the blood flowing again - we both opted for the rack of lamb on this occasion , served with hearty vegetables ,chips and potatoes and we both commented on the tenderness of the lamb and the succulent taste- you wont find lamb much... Old world Country retreat

If you wish to visit Galway, and do not mind being a few miles outside, surrounded by contryside, golf course, and views of the corrib then this is the place to be. Old world charm , open fires,choice of restaurant ,s one in old orient express carriage, spacious suites with wood panelling,and fabulous staff who will cater for your every need.
