olde world charm

The Gresham Hotel has fond memories for me as I was brought there years ago for my communion lunch. It’s a little out of the way for me now, but I have met up with friends for a drink or two before going to the cinema. It’s quite old with olde world charm and always busy with people coming and going. It’s really handy for the bus, as there’s a stop just outside. Staff were always friendly and welcoming and the hotel is close to all the shopping and restaurants.... Read more...

This hotel has certainly got the wow factor when it comes to hotels. Its situated in the centre of Dublin City Centre on the lively O Connell Street. Its a very eleguant hotel boasted over several floors. The staff are all very professional and pleasant and more than helpful if you have any quearies. There food is fantastic and they have a very extensive menu catering for all tastes. Food expensive but top quality is guarenteed. Portion sizes are not big but just nice. Fantastic hotel... Very posh hotel based in the heart of Dublin on O' Connell street. This hotel is lovely and has a door man dressed in uniform. Its elegant furniture and lovely chandelers hanging down from the roof, really worth going in for a drink if your in town on a night out. Woudln't be the kind of place you would get drunk in and is quiet expensive so not your ordinary night out really... Read more...

The Greshanm is a very old hotel and so holds a lot of historical context for Dublin people. it is a nice hotel to look at as the building itself is well designed. i ofter go into the bar here for something to eat as the bar area is spacious and comfortable and they have a good selection of food on the menu. it is quite reasonably priced also. They have a nice ball room here for functions i was only ever at one but it was a good night.... Read more...

i was in town recently with my dad and we went in here to meet someone and ended up staying for the afternoon tea- which really is a lovely lovely treat! The way that the whole thing is presented is very cute and dainty and it all feels like a special occasion that makes you feel like you are back in the early 1900's! I loved it and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice relaxing afternoon!... Read more...

Great hotel- very nicely decorated. The staff are great, very pleasant and friendly. The afternoon tea here is really nice and Toddy's bar has such a nice, warm ambience.Handy location too right in the city centre.I often come here for a few drinks after a trip to th savoy and its a nice safe place to wait for a lift or friends, while the toilets are gorgeous and beautifully kept.... This is one of my favourite hotels in Dublin and the best one on the North Side. It's in a great location if you overlook the fact that OConnell street can get a bit rough at night. A lot of people don't know that it actually has a huge car park underneath it, which is great for a city centre hotel. It's a really nice spot for a drink or cup of tea before the cinema and they do a great old-style afternoon tea which is lovely for a drink. They also have wireless internet which you can use in... Tends to trade on it's name historically..

This is quite a long-standing hotel that has traded on it's apparent luxurious perception borne decades ago. Its reputation was built up then, but I don't really think its prices have moved proportionately with the times. I'm sure it still upholds the values and standards once perceived, but I think the esteem put upon itself is a little bit bloated. Its age does show and I think the prices can be somewhat exorbitant. I visited my parents here not so long ago and their room (a pricey... Read more...

Gresham Hotel

The Gresham is an old hotel and this is evident in the bedrooms. The rooms while spacious and comfortable are quite dated it gives a sense of old. I personally prefer modern style but I'd say lots of people love the old style. I really like the bar at the Gresham its a nice place to relax over a quiet drink and it is right in the centre of city so very handy if you want to stay and shop!... Read more...

We stayed here some time ago as we got a good deal for a family room. On entering the lobby it seemed fine. However l found the bedroom very disappointing. it looked like it hadn't had a lick of paint for years. Everything just felt worn and old. We found it hard to sleep due to the noise of traffic outside, but then again it is situaared in O Connell Street so hats to be expected. On a positive note the food was delicious, mind you we ate such a big breakfast it kept us going for the day.... Read more...

I had an awful experience at this hotel. Stayed here with my family for one night. We arrived at the hotel and really loved the elegant decor inside the building (outside is nice too!) We had lots of bags and a baby and they decided to give us a room on the highest floor at the very back of the hotel, we took lifts to the top but still had multiple sets of stairs to climb and staff members seen us struggle and never helped. The room we booked should of had 2 beds instead it was one double bed... Read more...
