Quite something else....Its huge and well stocked. I spent at least 2 hours there.....the prices are a big extravagant like 1700 euros for a 1.24 lamborghini in jewels or 10,000 euros for a giant jiraffe. i noticed that some toys were out of their boxes so finding a perfect example to buy of anything took time and effort. I would recommend this shop if you are in Dublin on holidays....... Read more...

Good toy shop

I think this is a good toy shop.Hamleys give us ideas on a few toys like Lego ideas. It also let the child play and explore some toys in the shop.It is one of the way of advertising to kids but there's no pressure to buy if you know how to control your kids. The staffs are friendly and they are all welcoming you to the shop. However, Some of the toys are a little pricey than smyths but we enjoyed our visits to Hamleys and love their services.... Fun times

I'm not one of those adults who likes to act 'quirky and bubbly ' and go into toy-shops to shows what a big child I am at heart :D so I was pleasantly surprised when my hubbie dragged me in there one day ! No I didn't climb atop the giant giraffe or jump around trying to pop the bubbles that are a feature of the entrance. Instead I enjoyed a trip down memory lane looking at all the toys and teddies and was impressed by the vast selection of arts and crafts. Some of the prices were a little... Read more...

this toy superstore is great and a brilliant experience for the kid's but can be very expensive .they have something for all age's and always go one step further for the kid's they have had poeple outside doing trick's balloon animal's bubbles on stlints . they are very entertaining. they have three big floor's and little play area's for kid's , in time i could even see them doing parties for the kid's. i like the way they have everything separated for each kid's age's . there sales are good... Nice for a treat

This toy shop is a lovely place to bring children for a treat and an experience. IT has a great selection of toys, some that you can get in other toy shops but also alot of different toys that are individual to Hamleys. I love the Hamleys own brand stuff for babies. There are always toys on display which kids can play with and the staff are often dressed up in fun costumes. It is however more expensive than other toy shops but worth it for a treat!... Toy heaven for kids and grown-ups

This shop is a real highlight of any visit to Dundrum. There is so many things to see, do and play with for the kids, and upstairs with the remote control helicopters whizzing about, the dads are more than happy too. When I visited there was a big sand play area set up and the kids were like they were at the beach for the day. Absolutely brilliant, and it works for the shop too. We try, we buy. ... Read more...

Overpriced

It is a nice toy store and my kids love but it is too expensive. You can get the same item for a lot less in another toy store. I am not going to pay extra just because I am buying it in Hamleys. I also don't think the sterling to euro conversion is done correctly. It is a good store for a visit though, lots of things for the kids to try out and lots of demonstrations going on. The staff are very pleasant and nice too. ... Read more...

i brought my two children up to hamleys in dundrum for a spot of shopping as it was the youngest child's birthday,i was amazed at how friendly the staff was,my children loved the fact that you get to " play with the toys ".there is everything a child could wish for,and a lot more! it has all that smyths has except it seems more personal...i love that the little girls can get their nails done with nail art from the girls up there and that there is always a guy to show the kids some... Fun for Kids

(08 July 2011)

Report

by: E G. 4 out of 5

Hamleys toy store is great fun for children. They are encouraged to play and touch the toys and there are no staff members giving them evils or pointing out signs about opening boxes etc (not that I go in opening boxes, I would like to stress!). They have a great selection of toys for all ages and covers all interests. The only thing I would say negative about it, is that the prices are a fair bit higher than other, longer established toy shops that we have here. However, it is a lovely shop... Read more...

Hamleys in Dundrum not so good

(07 July 2011)

Report

by: Rachel K. 2 out of 5

My big gripe with Hamley's is the overpricing. I was in there recently and noticed that they really do not give their Irish customers the correct exchange rate on the sterling. If you do a comparison on the same product in other stores, you will notice that Hamleys will generally be more expensive. I would suggest also if you want to purchase a book, go to the bookstore outside, Hughes and Hughes. On the plus side, they put on a good show for the children and they also do parties, which I only... Read more...
