Heuston Station

Located on Dublins southside, just opposite Dr. Stevens Hospital. Getting to and from this train station couldnt be easier now with the luas stop right outside. I love to catch a train from Connolly station, especially as you can now book your seat online so no longer have to queue ages in advance to secure a seat. The seating area and shopping area have all been done up and are great, thumbs up here ... Read more...

LATE

As train stations go this one does have character, but if you miss a train or are stuck there late at night waiting for a train on the cold chairs it can be fairly miserable place to be with nothing opened and having to pay to use the toilets. Customer service is good considering they uusally dont have a good reputation. Sky news is something to pass the time on big screens but more facilities or services added wouldnt go a miss... great station

Just caught a train here the other day and didn't mind that I had to wait an hour and a half for it. The station is nice, bright, spacious, stylish in it's old fashioned design, as has adequate seating. There are good shops in the station such as Eason, and they also have a Zumo and a small Butler's chocolate cafe. They also make really nice sandwiches at Cafe Togo. There are plenty of ticket machines, and I didn't see to many queues at all. Really easy to get around and platforms are well... Read more...

I love Heuston station with all its modern facilities and shops. I had lunch in the restaurant and it was quite something, it was hot, fresh, and very tasty and the portions were not small either. I asked the chef not to spare the roast beef as I was very hungry and he gave a huge portion and it was beautiful. Its great having the Luas outside to take you the city centre in minutes at a reasonable price. Well done Irish Rail.... Read more...

There is a supermacs in it but doesnt upen late. There is vednign machines around it. Its lovely and clean and has a big car park to the back of it so it's handy to leave the car there, its a pay to park... Read more...

Great meal

I was taken for a meal at Heuston station recently and I have to admit that my expectations were not high, in fact if I had a choice I would not have gone there. But I was very pleasantly susprised by everything, the food was great and loads of it, the service was first class. The place was not too busy, which is the way I like it to be. There were loads of choices and each one looked beautiful. I will certainly be going there again and able to park at the rear a big plus.... Read more...

There's a good selection of shops and food now that it's had its makeover. However, I didn't like you have to pay to get into the toilets, I didn't like it at all actually! The Luas outside is much better than the packed bus to the city centre, although now I have no reason to get a double decker bus anywhere (which we don't have back home :)). Any train I've gotten here has always been very punctual.... Read more...

heuston station is by far the easiest way to get to and from dublin, its minutes from the city centre were all the bargains are,the station itself has a couple of restuarants plus you can go in to the galway hooker for a nice relaxing drink or dinner which is devive and not overly priced, they have up to date time table screen so you know when the next avalable train back is,and there is an eason and magazine shop so you can have a read on the trip back!!! ... I use this and Im very pleased with it. Like other reviewers have said, the addition of the Luas has transformed this place. It used to be terrible, but it is so easy to get to now, and makes travel a doddle. If the Metro North ever gets built it will link the airport to the rest of the country. The place is clean and I've never had any problems here. There are shops for buying food, books, coffee etc as well.... Read more...

When I first started t use Heuston to travel to Galway I used to go on Friday evening, it was mental, the queues and it was hard to get a seat on the train. I now leave it till Saturday morning and find it 's much better and more comfortable for travelling. The station has much improved and you can arrive there by Luas, Train, Bus or Taxi so well catered with public transport. It's got a few shops and restaurant and book shop. It has improved over the years and is far nicer to visit now.... Read more...

This place has come a long way in the past few years. It is now a bright modern station with good facilities and services. As well as rail links to the west & south of ireland, it has commuter links to places like kildare but now it also has the luas link into the city centre. Its got a bar, a restaurant, easons, cafe togo for coffee, cakes & sandwiches, juice bar - everything you need for a train journey. The only downside is that you have to pay for toilet facilities - can be a... Read more...

HAve to say that Heuston Station has improved greatly over the last number of years. Information on all trains and connections is now displayed very clearly and the staff at the inforamtion desk are always helpful. Still find the loos a bit dated, cold and not so inviting but I suppose they serve a purpose - its also a bit incovenient to have to pay for the convenient. The seleciton of outlets for food and drink has improved greatly and its good to have a few options... Read more...
