Generally a Good Night Out
(09 March 2010)

I have spent many a night here and always find myself having great fun. While I was in college we would often find ourselves here for an afternoon pint and still sitting there hours later with the staff asking us to leave. It always gets jammed as the night wears on, sometimes seeming over crowded and it can take an hour to get to the toilet to the bar and back to your friends. You've to stand on the street outside for a cigarette which is never something I am happy about. Somewhere like Hogans... Read more...

Cosy and comfortable.

There's been many a might when my friends and I met in Hogans for a few pre-drinks, with the intention of moving on, but come closing time we were still there. The location of Hogans is pretty good, I pass it everyday on my way to class, but like Cathal said the sign is kind of lame because I didn't notice it until I actually stopped in with my friends. The place was great though. There were enough people in it to make it a good time, but it was not crowded to the point where you start feeling overwhelmed. The crowd was lively though, and it made for a good atmosphere to be in. Hogans is bigger inside than I ever thought it would be, and the staff... Read more...

Rock steady

Hogan's is a fine bar. It attracks a fairly regular crowd - not too trendy, but not too shabby either. It can get very busy at the weekends and is all the more comfortable during the week. It is also a late night spot - so is often a good place to head to when other pubs are winding down. But to get it at its best, go for a quiet afternoon pint and stare out the big windows...there is always someone interesting passing by.... Read more...
