a quiet pint or a messy night

I have two very different experiences of Hogans. It's nice for a quiet pint in the early evening, the layout is very cosy and it's easy to find a corner and a comfy chair for a good chat. I've also ended up in Hogans at the end of a night and I've really enjoyed the buzz, it's a really good compromise between a pub and club. Great crowd in here

Don't come here as often as I used too, which is a pity. Was in here a while back with a few college friends of mine and we had a great night , brought back many memories. Hogans is a large bar over two floors, loads of nooks and crannies. Prefer the ground floor bar during the day , sit over a few pints near one of its large windows and peoplewatch on Georges Street. hogans is one of those places that u randomly find urself! i have been going there on and off for years at this stage! its in a nice location and i think the atmosphere is nice and lively! even if u want to go for a quiet drink, this is the place! close to everything and an easy place for friends to catch up :)... I have been going here on and off for years and every time i have been it has always been a good experience! The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and its a great place to meet friends because you can actually hold a conversation with people without having to shout! Good mix

Went here with some friends on a Friday night and had a really relaxed time. The place is well laid out and spacious over two levels with a dancefloor downstairs and comfortable chairs and padded benches to relax on upstairs. Music was reggae, ska and hiphop for the night so a good mix for different tastes. Drinks were averagely priced, the bar was well organised so it wasn't a nightmare getting drinks. good for a casual night out

this is a central bar and good venue, has a few chairs and good if your out with a group and can smooch a few tables together, has a big pull down screen so great for watching matches and always a good crowd for that, grand pints...have a downstairs which is cellar liek in appearance and has decent dj if ya fancy a boogie!... I like going into hogans during the day.My friends and i would usually start here before moving on to other bars.Not that we don't enjoy ourselves when we go but it is just that this place gets ridiculously full at the night time and its very hard to keep enjoying yourself when you are getting bumped left right and centre.Then the drink gets knocked and you know its time to go.Having said that, the place itself is pretty cool.Good music with nice people around enjoying themselves and the staff... Generally a Good Night Out

I have spent many a night here and always find myself having great fun. While I was in college we would often find ourselves here for an afternoon pint and still sitting there hours later with the staff asking us to leave. It always gets jammed as the night wears on, sometimes seeming over crowded and it can take an hour to get to the toilet to the bar and back to your friends. You've to stand on the street outside for a cigarette which is never something I am happy about. Somewhere like Hogans... Read more...
