Chinese Restaurant

The Imperial serves Cantonese food, which would not be as spicy as Sichuan cuisine from further north. The Menu features a great selection of starters, including crab and prawns, ribs and duck. Very good quality food. It's a little bit more expensive than others but it's worth it. The staff are extremely friendly and will do everything to make your meal a pleasant experience. There are dozens of different dishes. The main courses include poultry, meat, sweet and sour, seafood, chow mein, chop... Read more...

Wide Menu Selection- Not Cheap at Night

(14 March 2011)

Report

Went here with 2 friends last Thurs night about 8pm- was not at all busy, so somewhat lacked in atmosphere. Waiting staff were gracious and efficient; food served promptly. The cracked salt and chili starter (€6) was tasty as was my friends' barbecued spare ribs. We each ordered a separate dish , to share amongst ourselves- duck, beef and prawn -all very tasty and generous portions. Had a coffee to finish.Restaurant is comfortable and spacious and met expectations for a walk-in Chinese... Read more...

Disappointing

Went to Imperial Restaurant in Wicklow Street for Christmas party night. However was very disappointed with the food. Granted the restaurant itself is nicely laid out and the staff are pleasant and friendly also helpful but the food was slow to come and only the bare amount to cater for the 10 people in my party as we opted for a selection menu. Also very put off by the ladies' toilet area. Should have been cleaner and better attended to. Not over expensiveon the night except for the alcohol... Read more...

This is a simple yet really really good authentic family run Cantonese restaurant in the heart of the city centre. They have a huge menu and specialise in dim sum where you can taste a number of dishes that come in smaller portion sizes -all priced around 3-5 euro. They are also well known for their seafood and roast duck speciality dishes which are gorgeous. Not cheap but definitely well worth it.... Read more...

The food is inexpensive and the interior decoration at the back of the restaurant is very Chinese. I felt like I was in China in tiananmen square. All it really needed was a poster of Mao.... Read more...

Most of the time Chinese restaraunts dissapoint me, I think it is because my mother makes one of the nicest curries you can eat and so I have been spoiled all these years. However, I was quite pleasantly surprised in the Imperial Chinese Restaurant the other night. We arrived quite late and weren't even sure if they would serve us but they were lovely and once we agreed to only order mains we got a table. I was really impressed with the curry that I had, I ususally find the sauce too runny, too... Read more...
