Best restaurant in Dublin?

(12 November 2010)

This truly is an amazing little secret. It has it's own unique atmosphere, that might rub some up the wrong way but otherwise it's brilliant. Best sandwiches in Dublin for lunch and dinner is even better. Incredible value for money to boot. If you haven't been, then make an effort to check this place out. Be warned that you might have to wait for a table though but Slatterys is always good for a pint while you wait.... Read more...

Met an old friend here for lunch today - he advised that we should get to the place by 12.30 to avoid the lunchtime rush. Seems the rest of the city had the same idea as the place was already heaving. We managed to secure the last table in the place and had a very nice soup and sandwich. The quality of the food is excellent and the portions are very generous. Soup was packed full of fresh vegetables and real stock - no glutenous packet soup here! Sambos were top class with lots of filling and... Read more...

This truely is a great find and was recommended to me by a friend. The steak is amazing here and i too love the uniqueness of this place. It is a bit off the beaten track but i agree with kb you work up an appetite walking to here. The place is small and was wondering why they never opened up a second place. Everytime ive been in here after work its been so busy.... Read more...

Had walked passed it several time and gave in and THANK GOD I did, the sandwiches are heaven on a plate and the soups are fab. I will be going back to try out the dinner menu. The place is small and cosy and the staff couldnt be friendlier. P.S. dont tell everyone...... Read more...

Great little find - nice quirky atmosphere and seriously good staff. Went for brunch with some friends before Christmas - beautiful steak, cooked perfectly pink and bursting with flavour. Arrive early and head for a drink in Slattery's - they'll give you a buzz when they have your table. Good Solid Consistent Grub - its a winner!... Read more...

OK ok so i have known about this place since August this year, but like Tiger Woods 'alleged' mistresses i didnt want to tell anyone, as i didnt want everyone coming here and taking my seat. Childish? YES!! but it only seats 26!!! No bookings taken :( good and bad i guess. But when you have walked all the way up bath avenue from Leeson Street, salvating about the steak and home made lemonaide and then everyone and their mother is sitting in your seat, you say why did i tell my friend about...
