I dropped in to this pub on Monday evening to have a pint. I am not a great person for sitting on stools and especially stools that have no back on them. We eventually managed to get a seat in the little snug area at the back that has the staircase that leads up to the upper floor. Underneath the stairs they had stored about 8 large containers the type that they put the empty bottles in to. Paying €4.65 to stare at these containers was not great. There was also a strong smell of must in... Read more...

Kehoes is a nice spot for a drink after work any day of the week, also good for a few pres before heading on somewhere else. the atmosphere is great, and ive always met great people in there. really quaint in that old irish pub sense. good drinks prices compared to other places around town. staff are nice and friendly. but like all places you may have to wait your turn for a drink on a saturday night as the place can get pretty jammers!! :) ... This is a fairly attractive pub and has great character, might not be to everyone taste but I love and it always has plenty of great characters. There are nearly always several smokers outside any time you pass by. We dropped in there recently to have a drink and the place was fairly empty which was great for us. Service is fast and their Guinness was nice and creamy and not too cold which is how Guinness should be. ... Read more...

Always rammed!

Kehoes is always packed no matter what day you go in. Sign of a good pub - eh? Despite always being packed the service is always very good. You just need to have some patience when it comes to getting a seat. Downstairs has lots of little alcoves which are good if you manage to get one, but there is more space upstairs. It's an excellent place to meet friends after work. I love the ladies loos in this place - the 'waiting' area is massive!... Read more...

Controversial

Dare I be a bit controversial? All of my friends love this pub and rave about it. I'm a country gal, and fair enough, it is full of country people, but really... really... is it all that? It is always crowded - even on a Monday night. It is full of guinness drinkers, and even though I love a sup of the black stuff every now and then, it does also lead to some smeller than usual moments. hmmm. .... pricewise, tis about the same, music - cannot think of a single song I've ever heard there,... another favorite of mine that feels like a proper Irish pub.would avoid on a Friday as too packed for my liking.need to get here early if in a big group especially if you want one of the cozy snugs.downstairs ladies toilets are a bit dingy and small but upstairs fine.handy for parking in Stephens green car park too if driving.was here lately for an afternoon drink and seemed like a different place in the daytime. so quiet apart from a couple of tourists so definitely prefer the nighttime buzz... A favourite

This has been a favourite of mine for years. Great little pub just off Grafton Street that breathes character and atmosphere. Has become very popular and so can get too jammed at times, standing around focussing on spilling your guinness...but what a guinness. Highly recommended.... Read more...

Great little pub

Kehoes is a great little pub just off Grafton Street. Its a really old style pub and is well known for its great pints of Guiness.I love the small back part of the bar which is straight out of the 1950s. Does get absolutely packed on Friday evenings with the afterwork crowd, who often spill out onto the street. Its a great spot to go for a pint on a saturday afternoon if you sick of shopping. No music which is great, great place to meet a few friends for a pint and a laugh.... Read more...

Great pub all year round

If you're free on a week day afternoon and looking for a cosy little corner to have a drink and a chat, then Kehoes is the very place to go. They have a tiny little snug on the ground floor which is great for a small group to sit down and catch up. It's perfect for a rainy day when you can't face walking up and down Grafton St looking at shop windows but beware that it's easy to totally lose track of time and leave there a little more tipsy than you had planned! During the summer there is... Read more...

shabby but fun!

have always found Kehoes strange as it is dingy and shabby but filled with people in fancy suits!! It's always busy and gets a crowd ranging from bankers and suits to tourists looking for the perfect pint of guinness! I only recently realised how big it actually is having never ventured further than the ground floor before, but there are 3 floors and a (very) small smoking area up on the roof! It's a good pub for a bit of fun and it's definitely sociable, the place where you get chatting to... Read more...

One of the best pubs near Grafton St

(07 January 2011)

Report

by: Angie R. 4 out of 5

This place has managed to make money from the fact that they haven't redecorated it in what seems like hundreds of years - the nearby pubs that have spent so much money on refurbishments must be incredibly jealous! It's definitely dingy, but it's one of the few pubs in the city centre where you can drink outside on the street and it's a super place on Friday nights in the summer, everyone is in a great mood and chats to each other. Very professional bar staff, you'll never wait too long... Read more...
