Ah... that's not really fair. But it is. Kehoes is a bit of a kip. When you walk in it's all old world charm, the snug to the left, beautiful bar. Fab. But then there's the back... feels like an old pre-fab GAA club bar. Crappy tables, shite lighting etc. etc. And upstairs... WTF? literally... someone stuck a bar in old John Keohes bedroom and let people sit around drinking. Not great. All that said - I'm giving Kehoes 5 stars cos I love it. Cos the Guinness is great. The Location is... Read more...

Heare Ye, Heare Ye

Kehoes retains its old-man pub charm but none of its elegance. And that's why people love it. A great place to get lashed on the weekends after work or on an unexpectedly bright summer evening. The problem that I am not afraid to state (and on pain of death, I fear, I must persist) is that this is a 'winter local', a place you go to when you want a cosy booth brew or a hot whiskey on a time-worn barstool in front of the fireplace. Yet people go to the grubby wallpapered Kehoes as they would... Read more...

One of my favorites

Kehoes is definitely one of my top ten pubs in Dublin and has been for a long time. Its probably the old fashioned charm of the place , the great pint, the mixed crowd and above all the chatty atmosphere which always seems to prevail. Nothing better than sitting in the back of Kehoes with a few mates over a few creamy pints of the blackstuff solving the problems of the world. Tend to stay clear of on Friday evenings as it can get a bit packed with suits.... Read more...

Good Ole Fashioned Pub

This is one of my favourite places to go for a pint, be it on a Sunday afternoon or on a Friday night. The interior reminds me of my granny's house, something which I feel adds to the atmosphere. It is generally crowded and hard to find a seat but you get sucked into the place depsite that. If you venture in here on a Friday night you will meet the work crowd worse for wear, who have been propping up the bar since they finished in the office and always provide a source of amusment. Any person... Read more...

Suits you Sir!

This is a great pub with a wonderful atmosphere. Watch out after work as it fills up with Suits in for a bevvy on the way home. This is particularly true on Thursday and Friday nights. I love the way people spill out onto the streets from this pub and drink away on the street. It looks very European as you walk by. In a great location too and the staff are nice and friendly. Bring out of towners here and they'll love it.... Read more...

One of the best

One of the best pubs in Dublin. As other reviews have stated it can get mad packed on weekend nights. Best time to visit is during the week or on an afternoon off. Decor is ancient and untouched but all the better for it! The place is what a real pub should be about - unpretentious, great pints and a great place for chatting the day away with friends. You won't be dissapointed!... Read more...

Top pint - so long as you stay outside

As part of our "Best Pint Tour of Dublin" we ended up in Kehoes for the last stop on Friday night. By this stage all the participants were pretty well oiled apart from the few additional guys that turned up on the basis that there were a few free pints going around :). I think as long as you don't hang around inside too much and stick to the street then Kehoes is great. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the 4 pub walls... but the atmosphere is always excellent out the front and... Read more...

Some pubs are as famed as the Dublin writers who once darkened their doors, and Kehoe's is no exception. When it comes to the reason for that fame, Kehoe's has it for all the right ones too. The Guinness here is delicious, and while you may find the place so busy that you're left standing outside with your drink, you won't care. Enjoy every sip like it's the last because this is a pub for true connoisseurs of the black stuff. Fantastic Guinness every time!... Read more...
