Keoghs
(29 July 2011)
by: Oisin L. 4 out of 5
Yeah, cool place. It has very nice scones as other reviewers had said. You can't go wrong with a coffee and a scone here. It is clean and I found the staff very friendly and courteous. Location-wise it is great, easy to get to and a nice stop-off if you're strolling around town. It does get crowded sometimes, but if you avoid the morning rush and lunch time, you'll be fine. A cool place, for sure.... Read more...

King of Scones
(29 July 2011)
by: Trina D. 3 out of 5
I go to Keoghs for one main reason: their scones are gorgeous and very generously proportioned. One of these babies will fill up and you will definitely be going back for more and don't get me started on the different varieties or I'll be eulogising and writing poetry in their honour for the next 2 hours. As regards their other food, unfortunately, it does not measure up to their scones. Their menu does not seem to change, and I been there a quite a few times over the last 6 years. The... Read more...

Expensive but tasty
(20 July 2011)
by: Amanda O. 3 out of 5
The smell as you pass Keoghs is so inviting. The fresh baked scones are delicious and well worth a try. I find thier prices a bit on the high side but you are paying for the quality. They have a wide range of fresh hot baked scones every day. Thier hot food is very tasty and fresh. I tend to get food to take away as i find the premises small and cramped and you tent to be nearly sitting on tiop of someone else if you eat here. The toilets are located down stairs and the only way to get to them... Read more...

Hangover Cure
(05 July 2011)
by: lorraine w. 4 out of 5
this is a great place to get the cure for a hangover.......... they do a great breakfast. It is generally very busy and quite cramped but service is very efficient and portions are decent. Also a nice place to meet friends for coffee and a scone during the day or while out shopping. Its well known and is generally a hive of activity with people coming and going... Read more...

Good scones
(01 February 2011)
by: Angie R. 3 out of 5
This place markets itself very well - there's a constant smell of cinnamon and baking when you walk past. Once inside, it's really not that comfortable - it's absolutely freezing when it's cold outside and the seats are quite cramped and hard. The staff are also less than charming. If I'm coming here I usually grab one of their scones to take away, they're always really fresh, but I find it very irritating that they charge you extra for butter! In general, the food here is nice, the... Read more...

Very disappointed
(13 November 2010)
by: Niamh O. 2 out of 5
I have often walked past here and looked in the window at the scones and muffins and though, yeah, going in there some day. So I went in this morning for a scone and coffee. They have a great selection of scones - raspberry, mixed berry - all looking yummy. So I went with the raspberry scone and an americano - cost was 4.80 which I thought was a bit much. I went to sit, and it was so cramped - seriously, especially on the side where the food is served. A tiny person would have trouble... Read more...

Keoghs
(19 October 2010)
by: Annie C. 2 out of 5
Had breakfast in Keoghs the other morning and was a little dissappointed. Have passed this place many times and always noticed how busy it is so decided to try it for myself. Found that the place was extremely cold due to the open windows, and as a result my grill went cold very quick as did my coffee. Must admit the food was fresh and the place was clean - just cold and lacked comfort!... Read more...

Love what I know
(30 April 2010)
by: Cameron B. 5 out of 5
I've never eaten IN here for a sit in lunch or anything but I regularly opt for the scones to go, even if I have to join a queue that extents out the door and into the rain. It actually happens often enough in the late morning! The vanilla and pear scones are delicious, and I won't pretend that I don't love the raspberry too. At 1.80, it's a filling and delicious snack so definitely worth a try.... Read more...

all about the scones
(03 April 2010)
by: Laura B. 5 out of 5
I would normally ignore this place because it looks like a normal coffee shop, but the newsagents around the corner sells scones from here. I saw the logo on the bag and went to check out the selection in the actual cafe. OMG. Raspberry, fruits of the forest, pear and vanilla, rhubard and ginger, apple and walnut...their scones are AMAZING. They're huge and you get massive chunks of fruit in them. If you come in the early morning, around 8, they're still hot and the big moist lumps of rasberry... Read more...

Expensive but good
(29 March 2010)
by: Roxanne B. 4 out of 5
Completely agree with John- the scones here are AMAZING. I used to get them first thing in the morning when the raspberries would still be piping hot. They're not the cheapest scones though, running at 1.90 a pop I think. Avoca scones are also amazing, but I recommend Keogh's if you prefer your scones to be a little less sweet and a little more buttery. Keogh's also do fabulous potato skins (unforunately around 8 euro for one) and their leek and potato soup is fantastic. The muffins look... Read more...
