7 course tasting menu.
(11 May 2012)
by: Soylent Green .. 3 out of 5
Fancy a special treat. An evening of Fine Wines and a seven course tasting menu. Well this Wednesday next the 16th May Tindall Wines are hosting this event in this lovely restaurant where Derry Clarke is based. It will cost you €100 excluding service charge. If this is not for you then consider a visit anyhow. They do a very good lunch menu with seafood and Wicklow Lamb a speciality. The hotel had a makeover to celebrate it's 21st birthday. Worth a look.... Read more...

L'Ecrivain
(29 September 2011)
by: Dee D. 4 out of 5
This restaurant L’ecrivain is perfect for a treat, their prices have come down slightly and this has not reflected at all on the food and service. Beautifully decorated and friendly welcoming well trained staff at front of house is always a good start. They have a lunch menu and a dinner menu available. Crisp table linen, and cutlery are always spotless and add to the experience and of course this is what you are paying for, as well as good food and service. The restaurant has been in... Posh
(17 September 2011)
by: alexia S. 4 out of 5
L'ecrivain is located on baggot street in South City Centre. From its exterior you would not expect a Michelin star restaurant but once you entered the main restaurant upstairs it becomes apparent. Crisp linen table cloths and fine polished cutlery and glasses along with well dressed clientèle. The wine list is extensive and the choice of menu items is mount watering. The service is excellent too. It is undoubtedly expensive but worth it for the dining experience and the quality of the... Read more...

fine dining experience
(08 July 2011)
by: lorraine w. 4 out of 5
I found this restaurant has quite a formal feel to it. As one of only a handful of Michelin starred restaurant in Dublin be prepared to pay for the experience. Undoubtedly the food is excellent quality and service is to a very high standard. The food is French style cuisine with dishes such as duck, turbot and veal for main course. A main course will set you back around 45 euro, starters 25-28 so it is by no means cheap. ... Read more...

The whole family went to L'ecrivian to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. It was really nice and the food was really nice as well. The restaurant is in Baggot Street in an old coach house and is really nicely decorated. The restaurant was busy and the staff were really nice and friendly. It was a little expensive but it was really worth it because it was a special occasion and everyone was really happy with the food and the nice evening we all had. ... Read more...

marvelous food and service
(20 April 2011)
by: Gemma C. 5 out of 5
I have been in L’Ecrivian so many times and each time the food and staff are marvellous. The dining room is upstairs, it is a delightful open planned room decorated with lovely colours. L'Ecrivain is a Michelin starred restaurant and every time I eat there I can see why. What is lovely is that staff always remember us from previous visits. The food never disappoints always marvellous and service makes this my number one favourite restaurant. There is a nice piano bar to have a few drinks... Read more...

Perfectly seasoned food
(28 January 2011)
by: Angie R. 4 out of 5
If I could eat anywhere in Dublin without taking into account the price of the food, this would be very near the top of the list! I don't think that the atmosphere is too over the top corporate and I'd be very impressed if a date brought me here! I find that if you come here for lunch, you will get the same quality food as in the evening but for about half the price. It's an excellent way to sample such fantastic food for a lot cheaper. There's currently a 3 course lunch menu with tea or... Read more...

Beautiful
(14 January 2011)
by: Lucky C. 5 out of 5
This is a beautiful restaurant. I cannot fault it in any way. The decor, staff, menu, service, food are all exceptional. From the minute you walk through the door you are looked after. There is always alot of business people here, the restaurant offers fine dining at its best. The menu changes often which is a good thing in my opinion. Food is beautifully prepared and is of the highest quality, a most enjoyable experience. ... Read more...

This restaurant is beautiful in every sense of the word. the interior is beautiful and it is a real fine dining restaurant. i went with a group of girls and we had a special menu i cannot remember the set price but it was expendsive however it did include a glass of champers. the food is very good and very well presented but the portions are small overall at the end of the meal we were reasonably full and really enjoyed the experience.... L'Ecrivain - a very special treat
(20 October 2010)
by: Hungry H. 5 out of 5
L’Ecrivain is an absolutely outstanding restaurant and a credit to Mr Clarke and his staff for keeping up such a high standard for over 20 years. I have only eaten here a handful of times as I like to keep it as a very special treat - because it is a very special treat. The last time we went, myself and 2 hungry chefs, booked a table for 8pm and arrived promptly on time. We decided to have a drink downstairs before getting shown upstairs to our table. We each ordered a cocktail, one... Read more...

this is a nice lil spot that ive only just discovered. We dined here as a major treat and to experience a restaurant to this know standard. The food is absolutly gorgeous but very expensive. Being realistic i dont think it was worth the money as im a huge fan of proper home cooked dinners for a fraction of the cost. I did feel slightly uncompfortable in the place as i enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere.... Read more...
