Best fish, best chips, not sure how any could disagree with it. It is a littel on the dear side, 9 ish euros for a fish and chips but worht it I'm sure everyone will agree. You gotta walk up dame street to get to it, but again, worth it. The queuq is always out the door and tourists love it, might be on lonely planet or something. The lads in there are quick to get the food out too so you wont be waiting much. Great batter sausages and burgers too. all the other chippers just pale in comparison.... Read more...

small cosy but lovely :) I dont even like fish, i go for the chips which are delicious. used to be a regular when i was in the junior choir in CH. can get pretty busy depending on what time of the day you go, lining up and down the street!! the staff are lovely, very friendly and always used to be up for a bit of banter. but the chips are by far the best part. bit of salt and vinegar and its not overly expensive either!! ... I've heard so much about this since coming to live in Dublin, so I finally got to go and sample their fare. I had sole and chips. I was horrified! Plain and simple. A beautiful piece of fresh fish, healthy and good for us - wrapped up in heavy batter and fried in fat??? Potatoes made into chips and fried the same way. The Irish Government should force Burdocks to put a health warning on their food. I try to eat healthy, and limit myself to a 'breakout' like this, once in a while - but I... Read more...

my local chippy

I used to live right around the corner from here and often the smell alone with draw me in on the way home from work. The shop itself is tiny and often on weekends you'll see the queue stretching down the street. It really is your traditional fish and chips wrapped in the newspaper experience. No skinny fries here they are the real deal proper homemade chips with lots of salt and vinegar Yum. My only grip is they leave the skin on the fish under the batter, I prefer it without but thats... A Lovely little Chippy

This is a lovely little chippy, tucked away around the corner from ChristChurch itself. The staff are quite nice, making lots of jokes and chit-chat without being pushy, the food is yummy and not TOO greasy (well it is a chippers) and they have a nice array of fish. Their chips are lovely and fluffy and served piping hot, and they always give you that extra shovel of chips on top of you bag.... Read more...

Im not a big fan of fish and chips or fish in generel. A friend took me there 2 years ago and since then im a regular fish eater! The staff is lovely, they are funny - lots of jokes about germans (but nice ones)! :) The place is bit small, but always clean and organized. I love their fish and chips - i think one of the best in Dublin.... Read more...

Burdocks has to be one of the nicest places to get your fresh cod and chips , i have never found a place that would taste as good as this one. its just a pity its so far out as i would be a regular customer is it was close. but then if i did go all the time i would get sick of it so least when i do get it now its sooo good . the staff are friendly and so helpfull. there prices are great and there extremley clean. my parents where the ones to tell me about this place as they use to go all the... Havent passed this premises on many occassions and always seeing a good crowd outside i decided when i was in teh area at lunchtime recently that it was time to visit, while the chips might be a little pricer than elsewhere everything else was spot on and the quality of the food was excellent, one to visit again... The fish and chips are nice in Burdocks, but you can get good fish and chips in other chippers The few times I have got food from them it was always good. Standing in the queue you can hear a number of tourist accents so the word is spreading, I suppose after visiting Christchurch a visit to Burdoks must be part of the tourist trail, and it's a cheap way of eating. The chipper is small and only a few people can fit in at a time.... Read more...

Quite simply the best fish and chip shop I've ever come across. The fish tastes really fresh and the chips are proper chunky lumps of potatoes. It's a decent price too, you get a fish and chips for about eight euro. For the size of the meal you get it's great value. It's also the best hangover cure you can get. Nothing better than popping in here after a night out. Not too much of a walk from town either.... Read more...

Great fish and chips

The fish and chips here are just beautiful, like no other place in Dublin. I find them a little pricey but as long as its just a treat then you can justify the expense. I really like the staff in here, they are always really friendly and a bit of craic as well. There's a reason this place is well known around the city and its cause of the great food they offer. I cant comment on anything else but the fish and chips as this is all you need.... Read more...

I have just read all the wonderful reviews on Leo Burdocks and now ye are all responsible for me having a huge craving for that fresh crispy cod with the extra crispy bits and chips and lots of salt; rolled up in yesterday's newspaper!! No doubt when I make my appearance there next week I will be tailgating folk in the queue as I step nearer and nearer the counter "Hiya, fresh cod, chips and lots of crispy bits, just salt please!" while I am dying to add "hurry...
