Ok this place is pretty expensive so it is a special occasion place, but the food here is top quality! The 50% wine special on Monday nights is an amazing touch Staff are lovely.Fantastic atmosphere. The lighting is nice and appropriately dim for dinnertime. All the waiters seemed extremely excited and happy, constantly walking around with huge smiles on their faces. ... This is a nice little French restaurant. It is fine dining and the food here is expensive for wwhat you get however if you have plenty of money you will enjoy the experience. the restaurant is conveniently located and it does have a romantic feel to it. the food is well presented and it is very tasty. they serve beautiful fresh fish dishes and the staff and service is excellent.... un petit lieu spécial - a special little place
(30 August 2010)

Things started off badly in Les Freres Jacques. I had booked dinner for 2 on a Saturday night at the prime time of 8pm but our booking had gotten lost. Thankfully there was a table for 2 available however it was a little too close to the main door for my liking as whenever other guests arrived I was met with a cold draft. But the rocky start was soon smoothed out. There was a lovely gentleman playing the piano for the duration of our meal which is a special touch that I love. It did not in... Read more...

great for a date.

This is a really intimate restaurant, with a sort of bistro feel. Perfect place for a date, and guaranteed to impress given the prices of the mains! The food is French, and the seafood is incredibly fresh, as in, they cook a live lobster for you. My last visit, I had the lamb, and it was everything it should have been and more- tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The service is excellent; prompt and friendly but respectful, and you never feel rushed. It's the kind of place you can stay and... Read more...

Fine dining
(21 May 2010)

Gorgeous french restaurant just off dame street. Fine dining at it's best with excellent service from mostly french waiters. Expensive, but then again from a 5 star restaurant what does one expect. Should the restaurant be busy and your waiting on your table or perhaps you are waiting on a guest, the small wine bar offers excellent opportunity to sample a lovely fine wine. Highly recommended for special ocassion as John M points out.... Read more...

Special occassion
(13 December 2009)
by: John M. 5 out of 5
I have been here a few times now and have commend this fine dining experience. First off, it's not cheap, with mains costings about €30 a head. With 2 levels of intimate settings, it's really one of those places for a special occassion....unless you have a wallet blunging of dosh, then you can go here every week. I had the snails to start on profiteroles. I know..unusual, but being in a french restaurant I just had to try them. The lamb for main course was also very nice. I forgot how much... Read more...
