This is a lovely place for a special meal. Tucked away near the canal its in a very good location. You can get a table overlooking the canal which is lovely. The decor is very classic - crisp white linen etc. Its open for both lunch and dinner. Its got a good value two course deal for 20 euro and one of my favourite dishes - creme brulee! Heaven on a Summers evening

This where I love to spend a Summer Sunday afternoon with family either having sunday lunch or relaxing in the evening having a drink and having some of their lovely food. This is Michelin -standard without the actual Michelin star(s)! Setting on the canal in Portobello is picturesque and relaxing, and decor in restaurant very appealing, soothing, relaxing, elegant and chic. All staff were friendly, proactive, smiling and extremely efficient-obviously well managed and a happy place to work. Really good expereince here with a group of 5 people. On a Sat night running late and they kept our table, lovely spacious table upstairs, staff gave us space but were attentive to when wine,water was running low, menu is v. good for vegetarians, presentation of food is fantastic and staff were very helpfull in calling a taxi and changing money for us so we could split the bill between the table, it was a full house the night we ate so booking ahead would be advisable. ... Locks is in a perfect location in Portobello on the banks of the Grand Canal, nice for walk after your meal. Nice looking restaurant and very comfortable and whole atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Excellent food and excellent service. The staff friendly and . Locks serves lunch and dinner. We were seated upstairs where you can look over the canal and the swans swimming by. Locks is great. It was revamped a couple of years ago and it retains the old Dublin charm, and the menu is even better. My tip is to go for Sunday and get a table near the window. Very relaxing. ... Read more...
