AHHH my favourite. I order thai takeaways. but when ever i go to dundrum I try my best with my kids and wife to ask them if we could go there and they some like to go to TGI fridays but my best choice always is MAO. So, We went to MAO after 2 months and there was a little change in the dishes we order which was not bad but was more delicious don't know if it was because i was dying to try it or it was just different and was really nice and off-course affordable prices are just right nearly as... The Pig in the window seat.
(08 December 2011)
by: Bunty .. 3 out of 5
We arrived just before 1 p.m. and were shown to a table near the window. The first thing I noticed was that the floors were sticky. Ugh! We were seated beside a young couple with toddler of about 18 months old who was acting up a bit but nothing that would upset anyone. The husband alias "The Pig" kept shouting at the child. This of course upset the child even more and it started crying. I saw him smack the child and at one stage he put his hand over the child's mouth to stop it... Read more...

VERY slow service
(07 December 2011)
by: E G. 3 out of 5
I was recently on a weekend shopping trip in Dublin, and while in Dundrum Towncentre, I thought I'd give Mao a twirl as I had'nt eaten there before and I had heard good things about it. We were greeted by a perfectly pleasant lady when we went in the door, and were shown to our seats straight away. Needing the bathroom, I popped upstairs, found it perfectly clean, but there was nobody dining upstairs. We were giving a Christmas Menu, which offered starter, main, dessert, tea or coffee for... urghhh food for the masses
(23 November 2011)
by: Niamh O. 3 out of 5
I really like Mao in town and Mao in Dun Laoghaire.. but Mao in Dundrum? It is always busy and they make you wait which annoys me. Then it really feels a lot more down-market than the other two Maos. It feels much more industrial, like they have vats of food in the kitchen that they are doling out for the customers... the meat is overcooked, the tables have been sticky, and the service is slow. Not what I have come to expect... Read more...

Always tasty.
(20 September 2011)

The last time I did a review for Mao was back in May. I was back here again today. With the children back at school it was noticeable how quiet the shopping centre was. No crowds, in fact it was quite comfortable strolling around except for the heat in the centre that always seems to drain my energy. Mao was very quiet for lunchtime. We availed again of the lunchtime special. I went for the beef and Mrs. Box went for the Thai curry. Good sized portions and agian very tasty. We didn't have to... Read more...

MAO Dundrum
(14 September 2011)
by: Dee D. 4 out of 5
Mao is now a regular haunt for me and my sisters. We love it and the food is always very good value and during the week we usually go for the lunch menu, good value and enough in it without making us feel guilty afterwards for eating too much. The restaurant is located in the Dundrum Town Centre near where the fountain is and they have outdoor and indoor seating as well as upstairs seating. The staff are hit and miss, mostly hit and always pleasant. It is always busy and the turnaround is... Read more...

We called in to Mao in Dundrum today before doing a spot of window shopping. Now window shopping in our home has a different meaning to elsewhere. This term is really an excuse to go shopping and spend money. Mrs Mojito had two €10 vouchers for Mao that she had picked up from Pigsback. These voucher fitted nicely in to the €9.95 special that they have on daily. They have a selection of about 7 items on the special lunch menu including a drink. The restaurant was packed. This may... good value
(04 June 2011)
by: Lotty T. 4 out of 5
We went to Mao before going to a movie and I think a lot of people had the same idea. We have been to Mao several times. I think the food is good value for money and such good flavours. A number of people were sitting outside enjoying the warm evening. It's well positioned in front of the water feature. I was pleased with what I ordered but my friend thought their chicken a tad chewy. Clean toilets and very clean restaurant. The male staff (very good looking) looked after us well.... Read more...

The smokers get the best seats.

We had lunch here today. Availed of the €9.95 lunch special. A main course plus drink. I had the Beef in black bean sauce and Mrs. Box had Udon Noodles plus vegetables. Absolutely delicious. We wanted to sit outside in the lovely sunshine but a couple of things prevented this. Firstly they have these mirror like, shiny silver tables. The glare of the sun off them was dreadful. Couldn't see anything. The second thing was, all the smokers sit outside so we were surrounded by cigarette... Read more...

Dinner at Mao's...
(17 March 2011)
by: MT T. 1 out of 5
This is such a nice location, right beside the pond, and it's such a pity that this restaurant has plonked itself here. It's quite obvious from the outset that this isn't going to be a meal memorable for its particularly Asian authenticity, what with the menu reading like an index of every hackneyed staple that the West has devised based on the food of the Far East. Nevertheless, good food is good food, so we gave it a try. The mountain of food that arrived in front of me was a colourless,... Read more...
