Great value and lovely staff

This is a fabulous butchers. The staff here are so lovely, very knowledgable and professional, but still good for jokes and some banter. They always have great special offers on good, quality meat and chicken. I don't actually eat meat myself but I shop for people who do and they never complain, and they do a huge range of sauces and pre-packed chopped vegetables, great for lazy people! Worth a try, tasty and fresh

One of best butchers I've been to, so far, and the only one today I buy fresh meat in. Althought you can always find something that's not exactly you want it to be, they have almost anything and in fair quality and value. Instead of buying some unknown chicken breast or pork chops in Dunnes, walk further that 50m or so and buy in McArdle's instead. good meat

This shop is straight accross from Dunnes and is great to call into after doing your main shop. it always has a great selection of meats which are good quality. The staff are great and always willing to advise. Sadly, they've gone from selling loose meats to selling a lot of prepackaged which doesn't always suit. Their 3 packs for €10 is generally good value. They also do a mean chicken kiev:) There is ample free parking in the centre. ... Read more...

Great butchers

This butchers is located across from Dunnes in the Charlestown centre.The selection in the shop is huge, have loads of prepared meals, sauces, veg and meats as well as a huge butchers counter. Always busy , usually more than 3 butchers working there and they are all really helpful and friendly. Great during the summer for barbeques, they do a lot of meats on skewers and bbq specials. Agree with the last poster, their sausages are on a par with Superquinn.... Read more...

5 stars unusual in this day and age

Well I tried Mc ardles meats for the first time on Friday 19/11/2010 Bought some different types of meat smoked pre packed rashers , liver, Sausages etc, plus a large collar of Bacon, for 4 euro which was very good price. Point 1 . I usually go to Buckleys Moore St. Or Superquinn for the Sausages.Take my word for it as they make their sausages in-house or at least using their own recipe. If your in Charlestown Shopping Center pop in here before you go, you wont be disappointed. They have great offers on meat, if I'm here I always stock up on their breast of chicken and mince its lovely, i always buy enough that I can freeze some too. I love this butchers. Staff are very friendly and always have a yap with you. They stock a variety of meats. Also do lovely meats in marinades such as lime chilli chicken kebabs which are to die for. I would recommend the Italian meat balls so easy to cook and if you like spicy food just add a jar of spicy tomato sauce.... Read more...

Have been using this butchers for the past couple of years and was hooked after my first visit. The staff are a credit to the place - decent, friendly and always up for a chat and a bit of banter. They have a huge selection of quality meats - the mexican meatballs are gorgeous. Great for bbqs too - a lot of stuff preprepared and skewered. Also have a decent prepared veg section. Absolutely love this butchers,they do a fabulous chicken in pastry,and a chicken saddle with stuffing and bacon,i fill the trolley when i visit here and fill my freezers,never had any complaints with their food and got xmas dinner from them also for first time and it was delicious.... Read more...
