Cramped

(16 February 2012)

Report

by: L M. 4 out of 5

3 floor store which caters for all your baby needs. The usual selection of big brands and also Mothercares own branded items which are often superior! This store i find can be stressful to visit. I find it quite cramped and can be hard to navigate the stands. Find the one in Mahon a lot better layed out. Staff are friendly but are quite often under severe pressure with customers. Always good for advice before you buy and what you would expect from the mothercare brand. Overall good place to shop... Read more...

Not a great shop

(26 October 2011)

I don't think this is a great branch of Mothercare. The maternity section is on a mezzanine floor and it's tiny with a very poor selection. I visited one time while heavily pregnant and there was no one there. I went downstairs and was told someone would come up. Had to go back up the stairs again and wait almost 15 minutes for someone to come and assist me. I only tried using the changing/feeding room once as it was very small and quite dirty and cluttered. The door wouldn't even close... Read more...

Great shop but really cramped

(10 September 2011)

This baby shop stocks a large selesction of baby equipment. It is spread out over 3 floors. The first has baby clothes, gifts and toys, the second has maternity clothes and the top floor has a good selection of buggies, cots and all other types of baby exuipment. This store also has a Pixie photo studio where you can get your babies photo taken in lots of cute costumes. While I like Mothercare in general and the location of this shop is very convenient, as its right in the center of the city,... Read more...

Not that impressed

(26 July 2011)

I found this store to be cramped and uncomfortable when I was big and pregnant, and very hard to negotiate when I had a buggy with me. My over-riding memory of maternity shopping here was a poor selection of clothes (or I suppose more accurately a selection of poor clothes) that were neither attractive nor particularly reasonable in price. It was also stiflingly hot the day I was there which really didn't help. I returned there (I don't know why) after having my baby and found it nigh-on... Read more...

even though some people prefer the mothercare in mahon point, i have to say i like this one. I have been shopping here for years, over the years buying for a varying age group.they even sell tiny baby clothes which is great for premature newborns as i know it can be hard to find these sizes in regular stores. I love the sale in this store, it is a good time to stock up for the year ahead!... Read more...

Good for smaller purchases

(22 May 2011)

Report

This store has a good location on Patrick Street and stocks a wide range of items, but due to its city centre location there is no free parking. I always find it difficult with larger purchases as there is also limited places to pull in to load up a car. The only other problem I have with this particular shop is that it is very difficult to maneuver a pushchair around as the aisles can be very narrow. Saying that the staff are usually lovely and very helpful. Good for popping in for a browse... Read more...

Same good selection of goods although in a smaller store in city centre

(12 August 2010)

Although a lot of people now go to shop at Mothercare in Mahon Point because of its size others still frequent this shop in the city centre which has a wonderful section of what you expect to find in a branch of Mothercare. High class childcare items and clothing and everything for the expectant mother too. Staff are friendly and helpful and you never have to wait for service. Ideally location in Patrick Street in Cork and only a door or two away from a good branch of Boots Chemists.... Read more...

Nice store

I don't tend to shop here much anymore as i prefere the new store in mahon point but this store is also great but like the other store it doesn't have free parking. They have a good selection of toys from baby to preschool and equally a nice selection of baby clothes. I find the quality to be fantastic and the new born babygro's are so soft to touch. The store is over 3 floors. The ground is baby clothes & toys, 1st floor for Maternity needs and the last floor for nursery furniture/... Read more...

Have to say, for parents, its always worth popping in to Mothercare for quailty goods and very good customer service and advice, expecially first time parents. I like this store too because it has a changing and breast-feeding area which is a god send in the city centre. The sales are excellent, great reductions and lots of items on sale from baby to mother/pregnancy care. The staff too offer great advice and aren't pushy about selling you something you don't want. ... Read more...

Children's clothing, Baby Needs, Maternity

(29 January 2010)

Report

by: mari m. 4 out of 5

This is a great place to pick up maternity clothing and research larger baby needs like cots, car seats and buggies. I didn't buy any large baby things here because the same items can be found in several other shops for at least 1/3 less cost but everything is laid out nicely so you can check it all out. The ground floor stocks toys and baby clothing. The clothing is good quality and the prices are reasonable.... Read more...
