A bit scary for young children but fun and entertaining for older children, could possibly do with some current faces likes of pop stars etc but good place to visit... Read more...

I visited this with my 4 yrs old son and my husband. The place is quite small so I consider it isa bit pricey for the tickets. For me it is more a scary place.A lot of stairs so not suitable for baby in buggy. The exhibits were ok.Don't expect it to be as good as the London one.The kids area was not bad.My son enjoyed it.The staffs also friendly. It is a nice experience but won't go back again unless it is free.... Preferred the old building
(12 October 2011)
by: Sarah B. 3 out of 5
I have to say straight off the bat, I preferred the old Wax Museum. For a child it had more to do, was more fascinating, interesting, colourful and just bigger! This wax museum is less playground for all the ages and more Madame Tussauds Lite. Some of the Wax Models are excellently recreated, but as it is Irish, it is trying to be as beautiful as England and America but at a fraction of the cost. The rooms are cramped, which does make for an awkward trip if there are a few visitors at a... Read more...

Wax Museum
(02 September 2011)
by: Carol M. 3 out of 5
I visited this during the Summer with my two eleven year old children. I thought it was slightly expensive, but the children loved it. It is slightly confusing getting around the different storeys and it's very cramped in some rooms - there would not want to be too many visitors in one room at a time. The kids loved the science room (although they could have done with better instructions on how to use the different devices. They also really enjoyed the 'make your own pop video' room. All in... The old wax museum was a favourite place for my parents to bring us as kidsThe lay out of the the building is not fantastic - very cramped and not very user friendly. There's a childrens area,The Science room And the wax factor studio which is based on the x factor and you get to star in a music video which kids love. It's way too expensive for what's on offer though.... Not in Smithfield
(14 February 2011)
by: Angie R. 3 out of 5
I was in the wax museum last week with friends, and it was just off Dame Street, where the taxi rank is beside the Bank of Ireland in College Green. I'm not sure if there in another one in Smithfield but I don't think so! This was actually better than I expected - it's interesting on many levels. The Chamber of Horrors might be a bit much for small children so exercise caution! The Irish History section is of particular interest - it goes from the Bronze Age up to almost present day. There's a... Read more...

an interesting way to fill in an hour..
(11 September 2010)

this review is neither a rant or a rave, im sitting on the fence a little on this one. I thoroughly enjoyed the hour i spent wandering around the wax museum. Its a far cry from Madame Tussauds with a relatively small number of figures but they are pretty good quality and they are grouped together well with something to interest everyone,,,, The writer's room is definitely one of my personal favourites just because of the eerie sensation of being in a living room with oscar wilde, patrick... good for tourists
(18 August 2010)
by: buket b. 4 out of 5
My friend came to visit Dublin for a week. I have taken her lots of places in the city. We really enjoyed here and she liked here the most as a tourist attraction. Especially, the writers room is fascinating. The ground floor explained the chronology very well. But, the chambers of horror is really scary. We also loved children's section. So, you can visit there with your children. There is also a cafe upstairs.... Read more...

Bit of a farce
(28 July 2010)
by: Bek O. 0 out of 5
Attended the wax museum awhile ago and all I can honestly say is.. It's an Irish Effort. Or in other words, a bit of a joke. The corridors are so tiny you have to move in single file-not good with a few hundred people moving back and forward, half the wax models dont have signs to say who they are...and some of them you really do need to be told. Some of those that do have signs are in dark corners without any light so you cant read them. In places like the Science area, the signs with... Read more...
