this is a lovely area, i worked for a time out near the point depot and used to park down at the ifsc, when I would be walking back to the car I used to walk by o briens. There always used to seem yo be a croud around o briens. I used to go in the odd day and get a cup of tea and a sandwich. There is loads of seating, Great place to bring a paper and sit and drink coffee and have a sandwich to relax after work. Great prices and great value for money lovely staff... Read more...

I used to work in the IFSC, so I'm fairly familiar with this branch. The best thing about it is the upstairs seating area, which has a nice view across the water, if you can manage to grab a seat here. If you join the very long queues to get a sandwich made up, you will be amazed by the stinginess of the fillings they put in - this isn't the staff's fault in all fairness, it's a problem in all of the O'Briens outlets. I went to the O'Brien's Sandwich Bar in the IFSC for lunch this week. I have to say I was really unimpressed. I sat upstairs which was a big mistake. It was a sunny day so the glass front made the room ridiculously uncomfortable. The queues were extremely long and I was very surprised to see only two staff members running around trying to do everything - make the sandwiches, the coffees, cleaning tables, manning the cash register etc. The wait was unacceptable for people with only hour... I tried this O'Brien's branch recently for lunch. One thing I can't fault is the staff. They were really helpful and friendly. However, I was not impressed with a food. I got a chicken wrap which was too runny. They had a few specials, but I think they are still too expensive for the quality you get.
