I used to frequent O'Gradys quite regularly as I always liked the food, however the last occasion I was there left a sour taste in my mouth. I was there for lunch with my partner and whilst we were there we had a few issues and the waiter couldn't accommodate us with our preferred seating despite we being the only people there dining at the time, anhow to cut a long story short after paying our bill - we left the exact amount due - the waiter shouted to us "Where's my tip" - we didn't... O'Gradys On The Pier is such a fantastic little restaurant in Barna. The restaurant has such a "home" feeling to it and I think that's what gives it it's attractiveness! Now onto the food. I went for lunch one day. For starters I had their seafood chowder. I can honestly say it was the best I'd had in years, totally devoured it all. Next for main I had the oven baked chicken kiev, it was well cooked and tasted magnificent. I didn't have any dessert. The meal worked out at around... Read more...

Had a meal here once and I agree with a number of the above reviews, I too taught there were too many out of control children in the place, parants didnt seem to care what their children got up to, one child nearly brought down a waitress with a load of plates. Apart from that the setting is beautifull, a lovely view of Galway Bay. I found the food good but expensive, not a place I would be going to on a regular basis.... Read more...

This is a fantastic restaurant in a beautiful setting. It's set just at the end of Barna pier and the restaurant itself is just like walking into somebodies home. Downstairs is particularily lovely especially when they have a big fire on. Upstairs there's plenty more seating with a nicer view over the bay. It's primarily a seafood restaurant but they also do steak's and vegetarian fare. If, in these recessionary times, a night out for dinner isn't on the cards then think of heading here... Read more...

The food here although, a little pricely, was excellent and well worth it. We really enjoyed our meal here and the view out over the sea was lovely. Would really recommend it for a nice treat!... Read more...

O Grady's is located in a beautiful location. Its located on the pier in Barna village..hence the name 'O Gradys on the Pier'. They have a beautiful selection of seafood on their menu. I had a beautiful, fresh salmon and prawn salad. I like to think that they were just farmed down the road, but im not sure really. They have a wide selection on their menu from lamb to beef. Its worth a visit if you are nearby. Deserts are around €6-7.... Read more...

last friday I went with my wife and son to o gradys rest. in Barna - i have already posted a review on this restaurant and it only remains for me to say that the food and service were every bit as good on both occasions - My only problem is that there were children and babies present in the restaurant at a late hour 9.00.p.m. We were unfortunate that both parties on either side of us had children in attendance and it took away the full enjoyment of the evening to have to listen to the ' noise... Loved the setting and the food was nice but as Sarah C says quite expensive considering what you are getting - we had the fish and chips. Perhaps if we went for something else, we might have been more impressed with the dishes. Having said that, I would still return here for the friendly service and the lovely setting.... Read more...

I;ve eaten here quite often and the location alone would want you to come back especially if you get a seat beside the window! ( I think that only couples get these!) Anyhow, food is good and service is great! THe only drawback is that it's quite expensive, so it's really only a place we go to for a special occassion! Its a pity that they don't offer an early bird, as I would definately go for that! ... Read more...

We celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary here in Sep 2009. From start to finish it was fab - staff could'nt do enough to make it a memorable evening. Food might be a little expensive but you pay for the quality you are eating. We ate on the top floor and the views are spectacular - would I go there again - defo!!!... Read more...
