Cheap and cheerful
(08 June 2010)
by: Niall M. 4 out of 5
I've been in here a few times, good spot. It's almost hidden away under Tara street, but it's a great find. The pints are dirty cheap and decent too. It's comfortable enough, a little grubby and rough around the edges, it is under a train station and is a fairly dark place, it's not dirty mind you. It's perfect for a few pre night out drinks, or a good meeting place (under the dart station), and an excellent excuse to have a pint if you miss your train. I think there's a pool table there, I... Pints that are good for your pocket
(31 January 2010)
by: Laura B. 5 out of 5
I've been a regular in O'Reillys ever since they brought out their outstanding offer - €3.40 per pint and €5 cocktails. It's €3.40 for any pint and it's not just confined to the manky beers, unlike many other bars, and the cocktails are absolutely fantastic, I have a particular penchant for the mojito. The offer on pints is on every day and it's driven a lot of business to the bar. It's extremely popular with the after work crew so expect it to be busy from 5.30 to about 9,... Read more...

Cheap as chips
(26 January 2010)

Sub Lounge is a little off the beaten track in terms of pubs, but is very handy for the oul commute, located as it is under Tara St station. It's location means that it's all cool stone archways inside - a bit like the Vaults or Crawdaddy (I think that pubs under train stations possess a certain je ne sais quoi). But it wouldn't be for the architecture that you'd drink there, though. It would more likely be the promise of €3.40 pints that would entice you in. And not just during the... Read more...

Recession-busting pints
(23 January 2010)
by: michelle m. 4 out of 5
PInts are 3.40 euro in Sub Lounge. Seriously. I know there's lots of cheap pint deals going on these days but O'Reillys serve pints for 3.40 everyday with no special conditions - makes a huge difference to the dent in your wallet after a night out. Cocktails are 5 euros, the White Russians are a particular favourite of mine and I'm told the Mojitos are impressive too. The location is ideal too – right under Tara street dart station so no excuse for missing your train. Other than the 5... Read more...
