A nice bar

(21 September 2011)

Report

by: claire r. 3 out of 5

I visited the bar at the Odessa for a drink with friends before an event around the corner. We were there early so were able to get a table but it got very busy afterwards and we would have struggled to get a seat at that stage. So I'd recommend getting there early if you want a seat. Service was very good, considering there was such a large group of us. The location is a bit out of the way from the city centre. But if you're in that area, Odessa is the best bar to go to. Highly recommended. ... Read more...

I went here with my friends after work on Friday for the early bird, the food was excellent, great value I think 2 courses were €16. The place was packed but the service was fast and efficient. I would come back here again ... Read more...

Located just off Dame St.,Odessa is a really lovely little spot. The food is very tasty for the price- generous portions with good ingredients.I recommend The Chorizo and fire roast red pepper scrambled eggs which comes with a toasted muffin and costs around 10 euro. The chorizo alone is worth the money but you will need a good slurp of juice to wash it down as its very thirst inducing. ... I hadn't been here in years and we went here for a 'value meal'. They really have lots of great choices on the menu. We were seated downstairs, which is much more atmospheric than upstairs. The food was super, lots of options, service was very pleasant. All in all, an excellent and enjoyable experience. I'd recommend, and really want to go back there for Sunday brunch some day!... I like Odessa. Have been a few times and have always been impressed. My favorite place to be seated is in the club buiding next door to the main restaurant. I find it more comfortable and less rushed. Have ventured up to the roof terrace for an after dinner drink and enjoyed that too. Good place to meet up with friends. Brunch is good too.... Good Value

My visit to Odessa was superb! A friend and I meet every Wednesday for coffee or a bite to eat and on this particular Wednesday we went to Odessa. I was very impressed. The restaurant itself is warm and welcoming especially on a cold winter's night. The staff are chirpy and were lovely to deal with. I ordered from the tenners menu and was delighted with my meal. For a tenner Lamb Tagine is a great tasty recession busting meal. My friend was equally impressed. Will be back for sure. Overall it... Read more...

Great fiver and tenner menus

I've been going to this restaurant a lot more recently since discovering their five and ten euro dishes, which you can have at any time on any day. Essentially they have a range of starters for a fiver and a range of main courses for a tenner. The quality of food served is excellent for these prices and there's a decent selection although they do run out of the fish pie early on in the evening! Staff are extremely friendly and professional and you're always made to feel welcome. Coffee is also... Read more...

Great for weekend brunch.

Odessa is hidden away on Dame Court and easily missable if you didn’t know where to go. I can’t vouch for the dinner, but this place does a great weekend brunch! I’ve been in twice and opted for the Huevos rancheros the first time and for eggs Benedict the next. Heuvos rancherso is a tortilla with fried egg, salsa, guacamole and home fries… I think it’s about €12, and really delicious. The Eggs Benedict was the best eggs Benedict ever, perfectly poached... Yummy sunday brunch!

(30 August 2010)

Report

by: dub girl g. 4 out of 5

Enjoyed a yummy brunch here with friends one sunday. We had booked for 12pm which seemed like a good time as it wasn't overly busy - it certainly picked up! All of us really enjoyed the food - they made changes to meals (chips instead of salad etc) with no problems. Service was friendly and prompt except the bar was very slow making drinks. Waitress kept apologising but it didn't make our drinks appear any faster. Also thought our pitcher of Mimosa could have had a little more alcohol in... Read more...

A physcodelic opium bar feel to a pompous gentlemans club

What a disappointment. Many floors of the creme de la creme? I think not. First of all- Overpriced. Expensive with no bonuses. The cocktails lacked alcohol. The service was shocking. The aura of obnoxious snobby Dublin's finest occupies the many floors. Not the nicest atmosphere. One needs to bend over backwards with cash and connections to gain membership. Why anyone would want that is beyond me. The ladies bathrooms lacked cleansiness and toilet paper. A joke. No body was dancing to this... Read more...

This is a really nice restaurant just off Dame street. I went here for a work Christmas party a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the night. More recently I went here one evening with my dad and we got the early bird menu which was really tasty and great value (less than 20 quid) we both got Duck and it was just fab and the choice desert was SOooooooooooo gooooooooooooood!!!! It is so close to loads of nice bars and clubs too which is very convenient if you want to continue on somewhere else... Read more...

Its one of those places you could walk by and miss, however I think probably one of the best eggs benedicts in town. Love meeting with the girls and having a good natter here. The basement is really the place to lounge. Have not dined in the evening must give it a try.... Read more...
