I did buy a laptop and computer from pcworld/currys recently. There is a good range to choose from and what looks like good special offers. The main problem was the staff. There were only a handful of employees and the majority seemed to be in training. While they were pleasant they were a bit clueless. I had to wait 40minutes for the guy to find all my goods. He really tried his best and asked the more senior members of staff for help but they seemed rude to him. In the end no one could find... Read more...

What I liked about this shop was the location and the opportunity to compare prices with currys nearby. I bought a WD external hardisk few months ago. The price is great and at that time there was an offer on that product. Also Mahon point is easy place for car parking. ... Read more...

We had problems with our pc and took it there to get it fixed; we had to wait several days for news, nobody called us to tell us how long it would take to get it back, or what the problem was, so we drove there a couple of times to see what's going on. I also called the customer service number you can find on the counter in the shop and apparently it directs you to the main office in Dublin, from where I was transfered to another person, then another one, and finally I had to hang up, since... What I liked about this shop was the location and the opportunity to compare prices with currys nearby. It took a while to get a staff member who understood what I was looking for (a wireless printer with scanner) but when I was finally directed to a guy who knew the product range he was very helpful, and I got the discounted one advertised in the local paper. However, when I got to the till they tried to charge me full price and I had to point out to them their own offers!! The guy who'd... Read more...

PC World carry a full range of electronics at fairly competitive prices. The shop is fairly large and it benefits from free parking in the retail centre which is especially useful if you are buying anything from here. I have always found the staff to be helpful. Currys is just a few doors down so you have peace of mind that the prices will be fairly competitive as you can just walk a small bit and get a better price. ... Read more...

This place used to look downright shabby, especially the floor but it's now been given a bit of a makeover. The staff are a mixed bag - some helpful and some on the ignorant side, it depends who you get. One thing they all have in common is that they will aggressively push their buyer's insurance policy on you when you are buying a computer or tv - this must be part of their training. Apparently this means you can get a free repair or replacement but this should be the case anyway without... Read more...

I just purchased a new laptop from PC world as rumour has it they have great prices. I entered the store and sure enough the prices were great. As i just wanted a laptop for home use a basic one would be perfect. I picked one for 499 euro. And then the ryanair add ons started. The sales rep said i should purchase an antivirus & microsoft office as you get it half price when you buy. fair enough i did. Then he asked did i want a laptop bag but i declined this surely it should come... Read more...

This shop is located across the street from the main shopping centre, next to B & Q. They have a good selection of laptops, tv’s, and pc’s, some software, and a smaller selection of other electronics and periphials. It’s a toss up with the staff though. I’ve dealt with some who were very knowledgeable, ready and willing to help and others who didn’t seem to have a clue what was even in the shop much less how to operate it. The prices are average, nothing... Read more...
