Pipe smokers.

(21 December 2011)

Report

by: Ballot Box .. 3 out of 5

This is a lovely shop to pick up a present for the smoker in your life. They specialise in pipe smokers and have a large selection of pipes for sale including speciality pipes that would suit the Sherlock Holmes fan. They have gift ranges of pipe tobacco including a 5 tin selection of different tobaccos, cigar sets, Zippo lighters and Christmas tins of tobacco. They are located almost next door to the James Fox cigar shop so if you can't find what you need in one you will find it in the other.... Read more...

pipe

My Grandad always smoked a pipe, I love the smell of the tobacco. A difficult man to buy presents for when it's his birthday. I decided to buy him a new pipe as his one must be about a hundred years old. I had no idea what to get for him but the man in Petersons was so helpful and helped me select a pipe and my Grandads favourite pipe tobacco. They had a good variety of pipes and they also sell many other smokers delights.... Read more...

I don't smoke so my main interest in this store was its multitools. It was interesting to see that a store that specializes on a product that is know to be unhealthy can still try to bank on its location to try and rip people off. I was asking about their leathermen. I looked at their selection, granted it was nice. I then asked about their prices, they where ridiculous! Main one I asked was one called the charge TTI they told me price was 179.95, I bought it online for a 103... Read more...

I have dropped in here on a few occasions to purchase some pipe tobacco and have a zippo mended. The staff are helpful to recommend such and such and seem to take some pride in it. It's quite small so it's difficult to get browsing time before been offered help. So generally I don't stay around too long only to get what I've come in for. ... Read more...

Groovy shop

I like this shop as it's a bit quirky and the ideal place to buy someone who has everything a present. There is a huge selection of good on offer in this shop. The hip flasks and cigars were of particular interest to me. The man in charge was interesting to talk to and knowledgeable. I found that Petersons gave good customer service and the prices weren't bad either. I'll definitely be back for more weird and wacky gifts.... Read more...

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

I don't particularly like cigars, and I have no idea why rich arseholes feel so regularly compelled to spend the GDP of a small country on these glorified cigarettes. They are, however, the ultimate status symbol (just topped by, say, a couple of house-slaves or a live-in concubine) and one does often feel tempted to “splash out” for a big occasion. One such occasion led me to Peterson's with - as always owing to my relative popularity - a friend. The sun was setting and the orange... Read more...
