Tea Room

(29 September 2011)

Report

by: Dee D. 3 out of 5

Phoenix Park Tea Room is located in of course the Phoenix Park near the Zoo. After a visit to the park this Tea Room is ideal for a stop off for a bite to eat. A nice old quaint building, not very big but has a few seats inside and some outside. Perfect on a sunny day and can get quite busy. Nice enough food, soups, rolls, scones and these all taste like homemade food, tea, coffee and minerals. Service can be slow but everyone takes it in their stride as the staff working there are so nice and... Read more...

I love to go here after the dublin zoo to have lunch and enjoy a great view it is a bit small so i wouldnt spend too long here as it can get very busy! its grand for your lunch as they cater all soups and sandwiches etc.. i love their soups i think their homemade , not sure. but if your tight on money your best off to go to ones of the cafes in the city. they do very good quailty food! i got some tea and sandwiches which were just what i needed after a walk in the park... Great food & full of character

This old victorian building is full of character and looks great. Its a great place to go after any of the many activities in the Phoenix Park. Seating inside is limited and can be draughty but the menu and food is very good. I go for their hot chicken rolls, their soup and the scones. There is also seating outside, which is very nice on a fine day. The have a system for hot food where they give you a ticket with number and when ready they come out calling your number. Prices are very good and... Read more...

A nice place to stop off at after a visit to the Dublin Zoo or just strolling around the park. It's real old fashioned and quaint looking but a nice and cosy place for something to eat. Not huge with a few tables and chairs inside but there's also a lovely terrace you can sit outside if its not freezing or raining. They serve quiches, scones, soups, salads and lots of cakes, everything is freshly baked. It's always a nice and pleasant visit. ... Read more...

These tea rooms are located right outside Dublin Zoo, in the heart of Phoenix Park. The decor is that of a traditional tea room, quaint and cosy. There aren't that many tables so you can end up having a bit of a wait. In the 'summer' they also have outside tables, which adds a bit more seating room. It's surprisingly inexpensive given the premium location. The carrot cake is really delicious -tastes homemade. Definitely worth dropping in - especially if you happen to be around during the week... Good value for snacks, lunch etc. on a summers day in the Phoenix Park. Was surprised as I always thought it would be total robbery due to its prime position in the park. Cheaper than lunch on Thomas Street & better view!... Read more...

These tea rooms are situated just down from the main entrance to Dublin Zoo on Chesterfield Avenue. It is an original victorian building which dates back to the late 1800's.Serve mainly scones, wraps, paninis and a small selection of desserts. Nice place to sit outside onn a warm summers day - only thing is that there quite small so you'll find it hard to get a seat.... Read more...
