Are you up for the Match

(16 October 2011)

Report

by: Tooth Fairy A. 3 out of 5

Hugely popular pub for matches and really well known by anybody travelling up to Croke Park. There are no frills here and it does get very, very busy on match days but the atmosphere is just super. The staff are so busy but are always pleasant and smiling. There are much nicer pubs around but so many people are drawn here by its magical charm. ... Read more...

GAA/Students

(17 July 2011)

Report

by: lorraine w. 3 out of 5

This is definitely a student/ GAA spot. Weather you are going for pre or after match drinks or simply to watch it on the big screens you are guaranteed a lively atmosphere. During the week students tend to make up the crowd. The décor is quite dreary and a bit dated but all in all an ok spot ... Read more...

Great atmoshpere

(04 April 2011)

I love Quinns, it's always a great place for a night out! Thursday nights are always crowded with students which is generally fun because you generally meet so many people you know from college but it can sometimes be impossible to move on the dance floor! The prices are fairly decent too because it's full of students. It has a really good atmosphere after matches and again it's generally crammed. ... Read more...

Good pub

(03 February 2011)

Report

by: Paul L. 4 out of 5

This place is a well known pub in Ireland mainly for the people who often frequent here (I wont name names). I really recommend coming here for games, especially when the GAA is on down the road at Croker. Crowds flock in here both pre and post match and thsose unlucky not the going generally stay in here and create quite a special buzz. Prices are decent and theres craic to be had.... Read more...

Good pub, no frills

(19 January 2011)

Report

by: Ian s. 3 out of 5

Go down here the odd thursday night with a few friends from DCU and always have a good laugh. Its a fairly run of the mill pub, it wouldn't be as clean or well laid out as the nearby Fagans. Its a bit like a country pub with all the out of town students. Thursday nights can get a bit hectic but never rowdy. Plenty of screens and the pub is a well known one in GAA circles and is packed on matchdays. There's an off licence next door.... Read more...

This pub is ok for students and on match days. I think they are usually very busy on wednesday and thursday nigghts - full of students. They used to do special offers on drinks on these nights. they alos do really well on match days in Croke park and it can be good craic if your county are playing as your sure to see everyone from home in there! Overall a good place for a bit of craic!!... Read more...

Great Crowd

(27 August 2010)

Report

by: Paul B. 4 out of 5

Probably the most popular student pub on the Northside, packed with up for it revellers from DCU, St Pats and DIT. Always a great party atmosphere, there's definitely a country feel to a night out here, you'll meet people from every corner of Ireland and they're all most likely banjoed and up for a bit of a laugh. Always have a good night out here, thursdays are the busiest and best.... Read more...

Great pub for college students with their drink promotions during the week and on Fridays. They play chart music, country music and other classics. Be sure to get there early during the college year as it is normally packed by 11. It is also a great pub for a few drinks before the matches in Croke Park as it is located near the stadium. Overall an excellent pub!... Read more...

The ultimate culchie night out! This pub is known for its wild nights involving students up from the country to attend college. Always full of people and full of fun. Only problem is drinks are slightly expensive, I think they should offer more student deals.... Read more...

Quinns

Quinns very much reminds me of my college days. My first night in Dublin as a student was spent in Quinns...and many more nights were to follow in the coming years. One of the best things about Quinns is thats its free entry. It doesn't matter the day or the time, there is no door charge. Unfortunately though i never found the drink prices or specials very appealing! The queues for the bathrooms can be desperate at times, especially on Wed + Thurs nights when the students flock in. Due to its... Read more...

Ok for match days

(22 June 2010)

Report

by: hugh m. 3 out of 5

I find Quinns to be a bit hit and miss. On matchdays there can be a decent crowd in and the atmosphere is great- plenty of good natured slagging and banter. Have been here on other occasions and the crowd seemed to be extremely young 18 - 25 and the atmosphere was alittle messy. The place hasn't changed much over the years and could definitely do with a good makeover.... Read more...

A Great Pub for a Great Time

(17 June 2010)

Report

by: Elizabeth G. 4 out of 5

I live close to Quinns and it just so happens that the bus stop is right across the street so me and my friends decided to go in. It was early for a Saturday night, but the World Cup Game was on. We got to sit right in front of the television the entire night. The place started to fill up later, but it never seemed crowded or over packed. We recently went for a student night and the deals were great. The drink prices were exactly what they should be. Quinns is definitely worth making the trip... Read more...
