I too had high expectations when I ventured to dine at Rasam. The modest facade on Glasthule Road belied the enchanting décor - surely one of a kind in Dublin. Service was polite as polite can be. We went for the early bird - a dire catastrophe it certainly was not. A starter of chicken marinated in an earthy mix of spices was lovely. My main of tiger prawns in a sweet mango purée was gutsy and fruity, served with pulao rice, naan, and potatoes. A lamb dish accross the table... Read more...

I must admit that I have only visited this restaurant once...and once is enough. I was extremely disappointed. The food tasted of perfume. It was as if someone had put the rose petals, which decorated the bathroom, in my curry. I was not impressed. Nor was I pleased when the naan bread appeared on the table-soggy and greasy. Unbelievably bad food.

Had high expectations prior to dining at Rasam. This was due to high reviews by family/menpages comments. I must say (and this goes for 4 out of 6 people at our table) that the food here was far from good. In particular, avoid the Passanda. This dish was terrible. The chicken was pink which was off-putting to the eye and the sauce was very buttery and swimming in grease. The slow cooked lamb wasn't much better.
