Still Cheapest Physical Outlet

(01 May 2012)

Report

by: Nigel D. 4 out of 5

Reviewed this store first in 2010. Still silly to buy a book elsewhere without checking here first to see if they have it-if they do, it will be almost guaranteed to becheaoer than any other city outlet. A 'special edition' copy of Bram Stoker's Draculawas a full €30 cheaper than the same copy in a neighbouring outlet. Range is more limited than many other bookstores , but they do have the latest fiction /non-fiction titles , and also recently bought 2 completely up to date travel... Read more...

Great for college supplies

I have never gone shopping for books in here, but when I was in college I would always go here for college supplies in the basement. They always have whatever I need. Great value. Staff are very friendly. Great location. It's hard to find anything wrong with this shop. ... Read more...

Reads Bookshop

(03 February 2012)

Report

by: Sam S. 4 out of 5

Although this bookshop does not have the charm of being large with a massive selection of books like Hodges and Figgis, there are quite a few great aspects to this shop- the fact that the store does some really nice 'Vintage Classic Red' editions of Penguins Books at good prices(donations to AIDS foundation) and these are often cheaper than Hodges and Figgis! The stationary section below is also VERY GOOD.... Read more...

Reads

This is a good store for stationery and office things- one particular evening it was the only place I could find a few decent clipboards- but its book selection isn't great. It's rare for me to go to a bookshop and not purchase a book, but this is one of those places where I have never bought a book. That said, great for printing, I recommend the clipboards and folders et al, but the book range just isn't great. There's also a gifts section to the right, and there is some funny stuff in there... Super for Stationary

(12 October 2011)

Report

by: Sarah B. 3 out of 5

The layout is a tad messy, but the staff and the wide selection more then make up for that. If you need to get some stationary for school or college, there is usually a fantastic deal going on, regardless of what time of year it is. I have gotten stationary, books and magazines from here all at an affordable price. There is a wide selection of books, magazines, stationary and art supplies, but finding them can be a tad difficult, as I have said, it is a bit of a messy layout. The only... Read more...

Good all rounder

(03 October 2011)

Reads has always been known for its keen prices. There are a number of good book shops in this area but you will usually get the book you want cheaper here. It has a brilliant selection of magazines and a large stationery section. The book section is not that big however, so they may not always have what you need. The children's section is terrible - really small with a very limited selection so don't go if thats what you need.... Read more...

Reads

This Reads is in the building that used to be Blarney Woollen Mills. It is enormous and the magazine and newspapers section, and their books have a good selection of titles to suit all interest and hobbies. It’s a bit all over the place and think it looks untidy. You can ramble around a have a good browse. It’s a good shop to get all your stationery or printing done and you can have a picture put on a canvas or a mug, there prices are not cheapest around for some things but always... Read more...

Whatever book, magazine stationary item you are looking for you will find it in Reads, its always really busy and staff are happy to help with whatever request you may have. It is reasonaly priced and they have special offers on stationary items, their books are cheaper than other book shops and they have a better variety of magazines especially if your looking for magazines published in other countries. You could pass alot of time looking around this shop.... Read more...

This is a fantastic book stork. Not only do they sell book's but the also offer a great photo copying service which is really cheap. I don't think you would beat this shop for there prices or there stock. They do a large selection of school and college book's but don't do second hand college book's for law which is a shame. Really worth the walk out from the city to this beautiful shop... Read more...

Not so keen

(04 July 2011)

Report

by: P A. 3 out of 5

I'm not as keen on Reads as I am on some of the other bookstores in Dublin. My main problem with it is that I rarely find what I'm looking for. This is probably becasue the book section is quite small. The prices aren't bad if you can find something you are after, but the cheaper books tend to have been published ages ago. The magazine section is extremely good though and the stationery supplies section downstairs is good as well. Not my favourite, but worth a visit... Read more...

For anybody in the art/design/media world, this place is a must. BAck in my college days I was always in here whether to get a project bound or to increase the size of a poster. The staff here are all so nice and helpful and generally if there are queues they move quickly enough. The prices are very competitive too. There's also one out in Sandyford if you live out that way.... Read more...

Stationers

Report

by: Paul L. 4 out of 5

Easily the best place you can go to pick up your stationery supplys. Its always really busy around the going back to school time (for obvious reasons) but other than that its pretty quiet and they have nearly everything you could think of using throughout the school/college year. The huge plus is that they offer really competitive prices which gives them the edge over their competitors.... Read more...
