Gorgeous food staff could be better

(03 June 2011)

We went here a few weeks ago and ordered sea bass, stuffed pepper with sour cream, paella, garlic bread and some white wine. Although the food was outstanding and delicious the staff weren't great. It took us a while to get there attention and when we eventually did they were great. But I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in trying different foods. It was €99 for two bottles of wine and we got one dessert which wasn't the tastiest! But we thought it was a bargain... Read more...

NOT GREAT

(09 May 2011)

I visited this restaurant recently and was not impressed. The prices are cheap and the food a little disappointing. The decor, staff and ambiance are fine but the food isn't great. I did like the wine however. I will not be rushing back here and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. There are far better restaurants in this town and I'd say go visit them instead. Salamanca is not the place I'd hoped it'd be. ... Read more...

Good Restaurant

From the other reviews I was a bit sceptical before I came here. Used to come here a lot when it was Da Pinos so was hoping for good things. Glad to say I actually had a good experience. Restaurant isn't as big as the Andrew street restaurant but still nice. Great range of Tapas - meat, chicken and fish and vegetarian. The paella is fabulous and tasty. Only complaint is the tapas should be a euro or two cheaper than they are. Will be back but the Andrew Street Restaurant still shades it for me.... Read more...

DISASTER!! DON'T GO!!

(17 June 2010)

Booked a table at this restaurant for 10 people & was given a table for 6, in a completely empty restaurant. We asked to move but were told other people had booked too - many tables were still empty when we were leaving?? Shocking - completely squashed right in front of door - people coming in were knocking against us & the waiters. The manageress on that night (dark haired) was completely abnoxious - serious attitude problems , sarcastic , rude, unhelpful, all night - some people... Read more...

I went here with a friend one night for a bite to eat and some wine. We both really liked it. The food was good and tasty and the service was friendly. I think the busy atmosphere is what makes this place nice. I will defo be back!... Read more...

I have to be honest, i have been here twice. The first time was excellent, hence my eager return. However, My friends and i were left bitterly disappointed on the second occasion and being the one who suggested we go there i was very let down. The service, the food, everything the first time was very impressive and i made a point of telling friends about it.And next of all, i go in again and everything was out the window. We were left waiting for a very long time to be served by someone who seemed... I only even WANDERED in to this restaurant when I was in search for Da Pino. I discovered that Da Pino had been closed down and replaced with Salamanca so after the walk, and noticing the great lunch deal, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot. A main course with a side and coffee for 8.95- really exceptional value and HUGE portions. I had paella and potatoes (patatas bravas perhaps)- REALLY delicious. Great service too. Definitely coming back to test drive it on the friends. ... Read more...
