Tapas

(11 January 2012)

Report

by: Rachel R. 5 out of 5

Was there during the summer and will definately be back again. There is so much selection and as they are tapas you don't feel greedy ordering two or three of them. They didn't rush us out when we finished and even gave us a free jug of Strawberry Dacari... We felt we could really relax, and during the summer its perfect when they are playing salsa music to make you feel you are on holidays, even if still stuck in Dublin. Very reasonably priced as well. Staff are very friendly and only too... Read more...

Salamanca

We have been to Salamanca a few times. Great selection of tapas and not a bad price. Located on Andrew Street their menu is expensive and having had tapas in Spain and I never paid anything like the Irish charge for tapas. Nice bar and busy if a little crowded which affected service but we weren’t in any hurry so just sat back and enjoyed ourselves and soaked up the lively atmosphere. Staff were friendly and worked hard trying to keep up with orders. ... Read more...

Amazing

I have been here a few times and it has never failed me and I can never wait to get back here! there is a wonderful Spanishy atomsphere here and sometimes a band will also feature. Food here is tapas so a different concept to most other restaurants. The meats are alwats succulent and tender and their sauces perfect - although not for the calorie conscious! Salamanca gets my vote anyday!... Read more...

unfortunately was only here once but dying to go back. really enjoyed it and so did my friend who is usually fussy about food! we had a selection of tapas- cant remember which ones exactly- and all were very tasty. the staff were lovely and the prices as far as i remember were very reasonable. it was very quiet the day we went but that was lunch time so would probably be busier at night. would definately go back... Stick to the tapas

(25 January 2011)

This place has been here for years, since before the Irish got so into tapas! It's still one of the best - it's pricey, but I've been to Spain a lot, and that's expensive for tapas too. Their main courses aren't anything to write home about so you're better sticking to the tapas. They've now embraced the recession and offer a number of deals which make it a great place to go with friends. At the moment my favourite is the Tapas Tower which offers 6 dishes for 17 euro for one person.... Read more...

Lovely place to eat

Have been in Salamanca a good few times and have to say its definitely amongst my favourites. Love the selection of tapas and the fact that you can try a large number of dishes. Really like the paella, the spicy beef meatballs and the stuffed peppers. Its a really relaxed place to eat and is great for a group night out. Your not rushed and you can stay on for a few more beers or wine if you want. Would have given five stars only iot is overpriced for tapas.... Read more...

Delicious

This place is one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin, I love coming here. They say that they don't take bookings which can often mean you end up waiting for a table on busier nights, but you can just leave your name with the waiting staff and go for a pint in one of the nearby pubs while you wait. I love the tapas here and generally would get a good few dishes to share with my friends. The patatas bravas are excellent. Lovely atmosphere. It can be a touch pricy but you get what you pay for. ... Read more...

Irish Tapas

(23 October 2010)

Report

by: Veronica C. 4 out of 5

I visited this restuarant on spec with three friends. Althought we didnt have a booking they facilitated us which was the start of a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is tapas, still a style of dining us Irish are getting used to! We eventually settled on a few dishes to share, including chicken wings, meat balls, prawns and scallops. To give it an Irish feel we also had veg and potatoes. The food was delicious, tasty, and sufficiently sized to share. The service was excellent,... Read more...

Yum!

This place is just delicious, end of. I've gone here a few times over the years for dates and for friends and for special occassions and every single time I have had a great time. They have a huge selection of tapas available and this place is responsible for my very first taste of dessert wine. Granted it was my last but still. If you're squeamish about your food, be warned that the prawns come whole. But if you're like me it'll just give you a reason to play with your food and feel more like... Read more...

I have been going here on and off for 7 or 8 years and it really is always a good night out especially with a gang of people. Lots to choose from and I have lots of vegetarian friends who are happy to go there as they find enough to eat and not just the patatas bravas either - better still if they eat fish - there's lots of choice. Enjoy!... Read more...

Best Tapas Restaurant 2010

(06 August 2010)

Report

Salamancas on St Andrews Street holds a range of different events on different nights of the week. Moday nights are Ladies nights, which includes drink offers and raffles for the girls and Fridays and Sunday nights they have a live flamenco guitar player in residence, which is great if you want something a bit different. Not a trad singer in sight! Best of all is their Happy Hour during the week..actually make that Happy Two Hour! It lasts from 3pm to 5pm and includes tapas and drink.... Read more...

Something Different

(14 July 2010)

Report

by: hugh m. 4 out of 5

Havent been to their new Dame Street restaurant but have been to this Branch many a time and have always really enjoyed it here. Usually come with a bunch of friends and we get two or three different tapas each and share them out. They have a great range. Its really informal and you can spend the rest of the night over a few glasses of wine or beer without being rushed out. It has got a little expensive for meat and fish tapas but overall its not too bad. ... Read more...
