Shaws is more suited to the older customer for the most part. A lot of what they stock is quite old fashioned re: clothes and shoes. There is a Dorothy Perkins inside the door on the right but its like its squeezed into a corner and its quite poky. Most of the other ranges are aimed at 5o or 60 plus. Handy for the odd cosmetic offer or school tights/shirts but you wouldnt really go to browse around the shop. I have always found the staff helpful. The layout of the shop could do with some... better for the older ladies

shaws is shaws, its always been around. my granny used to shop there. its a good shop for the older person. dorothy perkins is the best thing for younger women in the crescent but even that isnt great. they have babies stuff but again its stuff my gran wud buy for my baby- its not really cool but its good quality. they have wedding present kind of stuff too but nothing id buy my friends- again- its all a bit dated. they do sloggi and wonderbra etc but there is a better selection in debenhams.... Good old fashioned service

What I like about shaws is that it never changes. It sticks to what it does best. They do tend to attract the "more mature" customer but I recently found two new lines of children's clothes that are so expensive looking but so reasonably priced. I love their underwear department as the cater for all shapes and sizes and a measuring service. You can pick up some lovely gifts and I got the most beautiful pair of curtains in there for price. Something for everyone

Theres something for everyone here. They do cosmetics, childrenswear, mens, ladies, footwear and homewares. Although I have to say I was disappoined to find it a bit shabby last time I was there. They do lovely childrens clothes, in their defence. There always seems to be an offer on in the cosmetics area. Very well priced store. Staff courteous and helpful always.... Read more...

this is a great store. it has everything you could need - cosmetics, ladies wear, mens wear, houshold, shoes and i have to say the staff are more than friendly and couldn't do enough for you. they do great offers too. i just love this shop - any time i go i always get what i'm looking for without having to trapse all over town! ... shaws has something for everyone. there is ladies, mens, childrenswear, cosmetics and homeware. i think they are good value for money. they do alot of special offers with 10 and 20% off weekends. i bought a beautiful communion dress here last year and it was half price, it pays to wait awhile to buy. they have very good offers on mens clothes also.... Great department store, with something to suit everybody. Ladies, gents and kids clothes, a great homewares department. Always a great place to pick up a gift for weddings, christmas etc. The cosmetics and toiletries section always have great special offers along the lines of buy one get one free etc. The staff are nice and pleasent, and the store itself is bright and spacious, with parking just outside the door....
