I have to agree with a previous reviewer, the service here used to be much better than it is of late. The staff generally just seem completly indifferent now, even the management who used to be much more pleasany to deal with. I rarely havew a reason to go in here, if i am looking for seomthing in the grocery line I would probably be in the competitor down the road. They do stock a nice and varied range of foodstuff and you will also find the odd paperback novel or birthday card on the shelves.... Read more...

Drunks

I just hate this whole area from Liberos to Spar to the Coach House. You always have little scumbags hanging outside either Spar or Liberoes and with any luck a few drunks will always go stumbling by searching for their last bits of change before falling into the chipper. Are they losing the plot.

Have been in a few times over the past 10 days only to receive a disappointing reception. In the past you could expect a friendly attitude and a please and thank you. My recent visits have been met with indifference from three different staff, all male. Maybe it was because I was making use of their special offer on Snickers.... 2 for a Euro.... which is good value. Still that was just one occasion. Good Shop for papers and magazines, very dependable,

THis Spar hasd a great range of newspapers, all the Irish, English, USA Today etc, plus the weekly provincials for our out of towners. What I like particulary is that with say th eSundays, you can depend on them to have all the sections included, not like some places whereit's hit or miss or a free dvd might bbe missing. It seems to be run by two older guys, one is always extremely friendly, the other can appear a bit distant and even disapproving sometimes,.....what? no thanks... Read more...

Don't like it

I only go into this spar if I really have to; find the whole experience a bit off putting, as once you get past the felty path at front door and push through the dirty handle, you eventually face a rather bleak looking crossiant stand, where the produce looks like it's been there for years. The whole store is crampted and I'd disagree with louis in that the magazine selection is adequate but nothing like that of Spar in Stillogran, which is miles ahead on every front.
