Good value deals, not great food

Its a bit hard to review Spurs in one way, because it used to be a great place and the food used to be great. But it seems to have gone downhill since we used to go. We went up there in the past few weeks and the quality of the food wasn't great. The member of staff that served us was great - she told us all about the different specials, she humoured any "comedians" in our group and answered all questions with a smile and a good attitude. Spur Steak House

Spur in Liffey Valley is another favourite of my friend and her family because of the huge portions that Spurs dish out. Her husband usually goes for the steaks and this is what he had on our last visit there and an order of burgers and ribs, all the food was very good but I found the ribs were just too much for me and they were finished off by the others. This is a great place to go. ON saturdays they do a deal buy one meal get one free, so great to bring the kids to. Also during the week they have a lunck time deal that runs till 6 o clock, main courses from 4.95. They also do a bottomless drink thing for 2.95 the only thing is there slow with coming down with refills.Also when you ordered the fried onions it's a bit of a hit and miss they can be horrible at times.... Great for frazzled parents!

Have been to this restaurant a few times & I have to admit - the main selling point of the place is the play area for children. My little man is 2 and as any parent knows - there is a button that seems to send them into overdrive when they walk into busy shopping centres!! Going in here for a meal seems to calm him and he could spend ages happily messing about in the play area. Mexican & Steak

I went here recently for a pre cinema bite to eat. The staff are friendly and food came fairly quickly. The restaurant itself is large with alot of tables and a kids play area. Decor is a mexican theme. The menu offers a mix of mexican dishes, steaks, and burgers. The burger I ordered was tasty and soft drinks were refilled for free. We tried this restaurant for the first time last week and was impressed with the value. Although none of us had a steak, we tried a couple of different burgers and the fish and chips. Everything was tasty - and there was a special promotion that meant we got the 2 cheapest meals free. Four of us ate for less than 30 euro which was the best value i've had in a while. ... We used to go here alot but havnt been for ages. The kids were given the usual crayons and paper which is nice. There was a lunch offer on which my hubby got. It was the chicken and ribs for €8. There wasnt anything I wanted on that menu and wanted the chimmychanga - unfortunately it was gone. So I got the chicken tortilla. Was in Spur last weekend, go there every week, food is always good and large portions and they have promotions on as well. I wanted something from the tex mex menu, my usual, didn't have two of the items so ended up having Tri-Combo, a grilled 7oz/200g sirloin steak with quarter of rotisserie chicken and a half rack of finest marinaded Spur ribs. Manager knocked a few euro of the price of the meal, decent of him. Great food and great service. I would recommend anyone to go there.... Read more...

This is a place I miss

I used go here every now & again at the weekends with the family. The staff are very nice & friendly. I'm not a steak eater but himself is & at that a very fussy one & he cant fault it either. Every time I've been I've had some chicken dish & they have all been lovely. It a fab place for kids as they have that small kiddie area at the side which we used tend to sit by so that one of us could eat ours while the other played away with the kids in there. This is one Place that I will not be visiting again for dinner, although I would agree that the smell coming for the resturant is really welcoming its when you get in and have a look around, this place is far from clean, the floors are stickey when you walk in. Spur Steakhouse in Liffey valley is one of my favourite places to eat. They are not the cheapest but they have fantastic deals on during the week of buy 1 get 1 free. I love their steaks always cooked perfect, staff are always very pleasant. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are, but I feel worth the wait. I love their steaks chips and coleslaw, great feed. There is a good area for kids, and staff hand out colouring pens and paper to keep the kids busy. Free refills ... Read more...
